While we have problems with criminals and firearms, Sweden has problems with firearms AND grenades...... [shocked]

The number of explosions caused by hand grenades has increased in Sweden in recent years. There were fewer than five in 2014 but at least 20 in 2017, and a further 39 grenades were seized by police.

The devices are easily obtained, says Reine Bergland of Stockholm police. They can be bought from gangs for just a couple of hundred Swedish kroner (about £20).

"Sometimes when they buy weapons they get grenades as part of the deal. They throw in a couple of hand grenades, so to speak."

Sweden's deadly problem with hand grenades

It's too bad all those illegal grenades (and likely guns) are ending up in the hands of the durkas and not the citizens. Because of the relatively porous borders between all the EU countries its trivially easy to move contraband around.

For example, does anyone want to talk about how the durkas brought AKs into Paris? They sure as hell didn't put them on a raft in Yemen and just float onto the
shore with their stuff. Of course they don't want to talk about that because its related to socialist policy.

And moar gun control is a wayyyyy better narrative and easier policy for them to implement.

I think the biker gang wars they've had a few years back ( I think it was Sweden , or Denmark,Norway) also included grenades . . . Not an entirely new phenomenon in that neck of the woods .

I'm surprised that are still less common in other countries like UK. Hand grenades are infinitely easier and cheaper to make than a functioning semi-auto gun.

Most of the grenades in EU are actual military surplus from the Balkans, cheaper and more reliable than something thrown together in a clandestine factory.

Thanks, Obama! The U.S. Attorney’s Office also "walked" some grenade parts.

Hand grenades used to be non-regulated in Sweden. Hence the current proclivity.
Not unregulated, just regulated under "possession of explosive materials" rather than as "weapons", so possession had a much lighter sentence than carrying a gun.

Sweden, england, germany, south africa, etc... You think what happens there can't happen here? Think again. Those serve as a warning. If we don't radically change the trajectory of this country, were next. Mark my words.

I'm not worried about islamofascists with grenades or any of that BS. I'm more concerned that my own government will destroy more freedom in a vain attempt at stopping those people...

Killing terrorists is easy. Getting people to stop irrationally voting for "false safety blankets provided by government" is 1000 times tougher. If we only had to deal with JUST external terrorists that'd be pretty straightforward. The worst terrorists are already here in the form of gov bureaucrats....

So, when you outlaw guns you wind up with illegal guns AND grenades?

This is the only bright spot for gun control. I'd like to see this in put into practice: "Well, officer - I knew we'd get in trouble for using my banned pistol anyway, so while I laid down fire to keep the mugger behind cover my kid pulled a pair of frags, yelled 'grenade out!' and took him out. BTW, no hablo ingles - so can I go now? Durka durka durka?"
