for sure...was it early-mid eighties, or maybe i'm mis-thinking, 70's? anyway, you could walk up to the box office on a whim and get an infield box seat.

As they say in the MBA handbook, if you show up dressed in full Cleveland, you might get transferred there.
    Is that similar to Corinthian?

late 80s and early 90s you could still walk up day of game and get box seats at Fenway.

Early '60s Fenway was usually half empty.

You actually had to go to a bank teller to withdraw or deposit money.

...and that was 10-3 weekdays (with maybe some extra hours Thursday afternoon).

And "money" was something that looked like:

You might have a "courtesy card" with the local grocer enabling you to pay with a check - or even a charge account at some stores - but no plastic, and checks were typically reserved for paying the monthly bills (usually by mail).

Sox didn't win their first WS until 04. Pats 00 or 01. (I'd have to look. LOL). No question you could buy same-day seats at Fenway right up until about the Pedro years. Perhaps less so for theFoozball only b/c people want to be theFoozball and it is somehow more betterer to be passed-out drunk at a 50,000 person stadium than in your home.

Guy on the back right - is his daughter a prostitute/stripper in Providence?????? Eyebrows, yo!

Either that or he's her "stylist" but there's a connection, no doubt.

In the late 70s, no one was going to Celtics games because they sucked so bad. A group of us would go after work and get "obstructed view" seats (behind a pole) in the old Garden for $3. The place was so empty we could pretty much sit anywhere. I saw a lot of games those years.

same at Fenway in 80s and 90s. We would buy bleacher seats and end up in box seats by the 3rd inning. I actually sat next to Tim Naehring's mother one game behind the first base club house.

When I was a kid we made bangers with some 1/4 x 20 nuts; 1x4x20 bolts and strike anywhere match heads (the good red and white ones you can't get these days). Bolt-Nut-Bolt, fill the cavity in the nut with matches and drop end down so the bold transmits shock to the match heads.

we did the same thing, but used bigger and bigger bolts, and more and more match heads, until it actually because dangerous to be around!
