yellow tip ammo

is it OK to shoot "heavy" "yellow tip" 179-182 gr ammo in mosin nagants carbines??

or another way--should MN carbines use only 148 gr ammo??

Only time I ever worry about bullet weight in 7.62x54 is when I'm shooting semi autos. The heavy stuff is fine for Mosins, just be sure to expect a little extra recoil.

Yellow tip

I have been collecting Mosin's for over 20 years and found that some of my rifles prefer the heavy ball ammo.I get better groups.

Milsurp is correct it will have a bit more kick but then the carbines kick anyway. My M39 Finns. love the stuff.
