I found this evening that back in April Yaesu released new firmware for both the controller and DSP chips on the FT1DR handheld.
The versions I had installed were two years old, and maybe it is my imagination, but I think the receive performance has improved slightly. It was already very good -- I use the radio mostly as a public service scanner hooked to a Diamond V2000A antenna sitting at a little under 1200 ft AMSL.
They also released a new version of the ADMS-6 programming software that fixed an annoying data connection issue for me using the SCU-18 data cable.
If you own one and you are doing the update make sure you do both controller and DSP as they are separate operations.
