A Boone County man was shot while trying to break into his ex-girlfriend's home, deputies said.
Paul Conrad, 37, of Sylvester broke into Debbie Bragg's home in Branham Heights mobile home park about 7:15 a.m. Sunday, Boone Sheriff Rodney Miller said in a press release. Robert Cain, Bragg's current boyfriend, was in the home when the break-in occurred.
Conrad and Cain struggled but the confrontation ended with a single shotgun blast to Conrad's left arm, Miller said. Cain was able to subdue and hold Conrad until deputies arrived.....

.....One neighbor who doesn’t wish to be named says she saw Conrad Saturday -- looking at Bragg's home from behind a tree.
“He was tall; dressed in black. He had a big black duffel bag,” the neighbor said.
That's the description she gave the 911 operator who told her an officer would call her back, but the call never came. It wasn't until after the shooting when rumors started flying around the neighborhood about what police found inside that duffel bag.....
