Registration starts at 9:30, safety briefing at 10 AM followed by the match.

Bring your flashlight, there is a low light stage

is there a minimum caliber requirement? Can I do it with a .22(assuming I get my license by then?). Or would I need a 9mm?

You can get the rule book here www.IDPA.com . But to answer your question. YES, 9mm/.38 is the smallest calibers allowed. You don't need a license to play.

IDPA is definitely something I'm interested in trying. I have some commitments later in the day etc but I'm planning to stop by and also "spectate" and see how things work. Look forward to meeting some of you there.

Never been to worcester.

Are these outdoor stages or is it all indoor like S&W?

You'll be shooting outside. Bring warm clothes and a hot drink. WPR is actually in Boylston. Down the street on RT140 off of I290.

All outdoor except when there's a low light stage, which is indoor. The setup is pretty similar to the matches at Harvard, except there are often two stages in one bay because WPRC only has 3 ranges.

You can shoot your first match without a membership. After that, you're supposed to join. You can join through an affiliated club and the club gets a kickback.
