No all action pistol competitions are run cold everywhere afaik.

What kind of mag pouches can u use. Just got some blk scorpion used to uspsa I think

They're ok for a club match, but if they have knobs or hold the mags too far out, they're not technically legal for idpa which has rules for everything.

They have knobs , I do have a 5.11 Molle double mag pouch that’s close to the body. What is the recommended amount of mags? In Idpa do they not drop the mags when changing?

3 or 4 mags is sufficient depending on division. Empty mags do get dropped.

Just don't drop any loaded mags.
