I went to one of the Collings Air Shows last year. My dad flew in B-17's over Germany, and it was shocking to see how small they really were,
and how flimsy the were built.

In the words of Ernie Pyle....."Brave Men, Brave Men!"

I didn't go but I saw plenty of cool planes flying over my house for the past two days. A couple of WWI era bi-planes and a ton of others.

I saw them at Trenton-Mercer a few years ago, wish I had seen this earlier - maybe I'll head up to Boire next weekend (also, I wish I had the 3 grand for stick time on the P-51 [smile] )

Flimsy? Those things could fly with half their tail and a wing shot off.
