I feel like the big recession, which is probably now likely to be a depression, might throw a lot of cold water on the anti-2A campaign.

Why? The left is going to be worried more about entitlement cuts, job loss, and the collapse of the EBT system, as government debt explodes and blue states and cities head toward bankruptcy.

I could be wrong, they might lash out in their misery at us and what we hold dear. I imagine the riots will be massive.

They'll spend every last ounce of energy blaming it on Trump. As for the government, they'll find a way to tax our fruits, using emotion to bypass a civilized conversation.

Considering most of it is astroturf paid for by some rich people? not a chance. Of course most of this anti stuff is flash in the pan, they'll just put their pussy hats back on
and go back to generic trump whining, or whatever the moonbat cause-du-jour is....

That's my point - 2nd amendments rights is really important to people here, but to the libs, it's just their flavor of the month, so when they have bigger things to worry about, they'll forget it.

Like these college kids, when their parents, already leveraged to the wazoo, cut off the funds - they'll have bigger problems than our rights.

Did it deter FDR from gun grabbing? If anything it emboldens them.

Yeah, the government is a different story, they are always looking for an excuse to take away more rights. A depression would be a good opportunity. But I don't think they'd succeed.

It's been a +/- cycle for many years. It normally runs every ten years. A 0.01 percenter told me that about 20 years ago. His words ring true.

I see the gov't doing more shit to make you more dependent on the gov't. They will blame free enterprise for the recession. This is where u will see bad ideas like universal basic income, and seizure of "rich people's" retirement funds

Sort of another topic, but yeah, if the recession happens on Trump's watch, they will scream from the hilltops it was Trump and capitalism that did it, and they'll be pushing all kinds of horrible socialist ideas. I hope the recession holds off til after the next election, but Trump seems determined to accelerate it.

I think the master plan is to disarm BEFORE the collapse.... we need to make sure that doesn’t happen... as it’s been said here before. I’f we see some sort of collapse it will only embolden those in power to take more freedoms from us... you know, for our safety...

The US economy will expand, and the US economy will contract. The lows (contractions) always have a way of feeling lower than the highs feel high. Maybe driven by media/hype, maybe some based in reality.

I don’t ever expect to see a true “depression” occurring again in this country. The 1930’s era depression will not be duplicated in this country again. UNLESS the US falls as the worlds superpower and our country is no longer a constitutional republic. Then all bets are off.

A stock market decline is not a depression, neither is your typical recession that occurs every 6-7 years. This expansion continues and the underlying fundamentals are quite good. Debt levels are high, and will need to be addressed, but debt service is manageable with current and expected future interest rates remaining low.

The single biggest threat to 2a is demographics. The youth do have influence like we’re seeing from Parkland. That’s why it is so important to educate the youth to think for themselves and not be influenced by schools/teachers, media or leftist politicians.

This.
Nothing - absolutely NOTHING - will ever, ever "stop" the leftwing, Anti-Gun, scumsucking, liberal filthbag maggots from their ultimate desired goal: disarming honest, law-abiding American citizens.. and turning "our" nation into "their" nation of defenseless, submissive Euro-Fairies.

NOTHING.

If Facebook was gone tomorrow, all the worlds problems would go away with it

Did the last big recession slow the gun grabbers down any?

It was way too short to have that kind of effect. The Fed stepped in with trillions of stimulus and reinflated the economy quickly. I’m talking a much bigger one this time. Interest rates were 5% last time, the Fed cut to zero. This time rates are 1.5%, so cuts won’t do much.

Dirt nap will do it!

You and I don’t really agree that total economic calamity is on the doorstep but I really do doubt if it did happen that it would chill out the gun grabbers any.

A rifle buttstroke to the forehead will damper the Anti's. And conserve ammo...
