TV, Movie hype , set up. How many takes. If hes so up on gun safety why no trigger locks ,ECI and why are the magazines out.
plus did he hand him back a pistol cocked and ready to go? Plus spliting hairs here but thats not how i was taught to hand off a pistol someone.
Plus the slap away put the people to the left and in front of them in danger.

Mag was empty, chamber was empty.

Maybe he should have locked the slide, but a round wouldnt magically appear in the chamber.

Maybe he should have racked the slide 17 times, stick his pinky in the chamber, put a chamber flag in it, check again, flip the gun over, look inside the empty grip, looked at the mag, push the mag down with his finger and then hand the gun over.
