Why, Oh Why, Does This Happen?

When I post a thread for sale and I type this in the thread line:

WTS - S&W 1911 .45ACP

does it come out like this:

Wts - S&w 1911 .45acp?

I have tried six ways to sunday to alter this to no avail. What
am I doing wrong? I use Firefox but have tried IE as well with
no luck.

It's a setting that I have to change... I'll fix it.
