Why is everyone dumping theirPM9's? I don't recall ever seeing so many in the classifieds before.

I like mine a lot. Not sure what else you could ask for in a compact, single stack 9.

Maybe there is just more choice in that size firearm than there has been in the past. I love my PM9, it is not going anywhere!

never really paid much attention but now that i think about, yeah, does seem to be a bunch up for sale recently. huh....

Beats me. I have one also, excellent carry gun. Accurate and dependable, shoots my reloads flawlessly. In the summer I am a shorts and T shirt guy, stick it in my pocket and forget it.

I thinks it's the same as selling a convertible or motorcycle in the beginning of summer, more demand for pocket guns.

Now that the LC9 has gone striker fired, maybe a bunch of folks who preferred the look/feel/price point of the Ruger are trying to make the switch?

I noticed that too. I've always been intrigued by the PM9 but I dry fired one a few times a couple of weeks ago and didn't like the trigger. Sticking with my LCR.

I've been wondering the same. Mine's not going anywhere, it is the perfect carry gun IMO.

because they are moony guns.
$$ from the sale of those goes right to that whack job church..
Err cult

I never knew anything about that. Just researched it briefly. So just because Justin is the son of the founder of that church, you are certain that proceeds from Kahr sales go to the church? I've only owned one Kahr, a K40 which I sold several years ago. Nice gun, I just didn't want a .40 anymore.

I think that whomever mentioned the variety of compact 9s on the market now is on to something. There was a time not that long ago when it was pretty much "the only game in town" if you wanted a subcompact 9mm. Now there are others available in that size range so people like to try new things. I think it's a great little gun, but I'd go for the Sig p938 over that in that price range, and possibly even a Ruger LC9s if I wanted to stay striker fired. You could actually sell a PM9, and almost buy 2 LC9s! I fondled one the other day, and it has a really nice trigger for being MA compliant, way better than a PM9 inmo. The PM9 is slightly smaller though.

I think its mostly CCW cold feet/lazebag syndrome. Also, many people buy guns with some self delusion that they will use/carry it... because a PM9 is a specialty gun, its less likely to stick around if the owner doesn't put it to frequent use.

just bought one a few weeks ago off a member here.

got the free state version with no manual safety and then bought the galco ankle glove for it...it's amazing not only how well it conceals, but also how little I notice it's even there in ankle carry, fully loaded and everything.

i've shot PM9's before, but i haven't shot mine yet (I was just carrying it to see how it felt before I made my decision to keep it, and YES I was also carrying my shield IWB just in case).

anyway, I've been looking for the free state version for a while, and I've been kicking myself in the ass since the last one passed me by.

guy at the gun parlor told me the trigger is stiffer on the free state version...this kinda seemed silly to me as I would expect the exact opposite. he attributed it to the lack of a manual safety. is this true?

My PM9 is my warm weather carry, I actually think the trigger is pretty good for a production pistol. The lawyer lever is a nuisance but a minor one.

Yes, that is true, even though it doesn't make sense to me either. I found a nice all black free-state PM9 for my cousin a couple of months ago from a member on here. I really wanted it myself, but the timing was off for me, and I knew my cousin really wanted a PM9, so I connected him with the seller since he isn't a member here. I fired it quite a bit, and it's a nice gun, but my cousin noticed that his trigger was different from the ones he dry fired in MA shops. I told him that was in fact the case, and that I would rather have a slightly heavier trigger to lose that hokey slide safety! I'm sure that you can get the free-state springs if you really want to lighten it up, but in my cousin's case, he is used to it now and doesn't care to mess with it. I found myself hitting low on the target when I first shot it because the trigger is so long, I think it was causing me to pull the muzzle down. By the second mag I had it straightened out though.

oh, and you guys that pocket carry, do you use a pocket holster or just say to hell with it?

sorry, not sorry for hijacking your thread...

i've got questions, you've got answers :)
Always use a holster - you don't want anything getting caught in the trigger guard (or even from the outside of your pocket through the cloth) and you don't want the chance of the same happening as you draw. Pocket holsters are pretty cheap - no reason not to get one.

Pocket holster. Never, ever carry a gun in a pocket without a pocket holster. And nothing else goes in that pocket.

The pocket holster does several very important things. It keeps the gun oriented properly so you can grip it when you reach into your pocket. The pocket holster reduces the amount of lint that gets into the gun. The pocket holster protects the trigger guard, preventing your booger hook from snagging the trigger when you reach into your pocket.

My PM9 is a perfect pocket carry gun. It rides in a Mika pocket holster when I have to "dress up".

I have one in the classifieds now for sale.

Everything said in the thread is true. It's a wonderfully crafted piece that hides well especially in the summer. For me, I don't shoot it very well and prefer my Glock. Even though it's slightly larger in dimensions. My comfort level is much higher with the Glock as i shoot very well with it. Nothing wrong with the Kahr, just personal preference. No sense in keeping something built as small as that for the range. It can go to someone else looking for a pocket carry and saving a few bucks over buying new. I can then reinvest the capital back into another firearm.

This. Always in a pocket holster. Too many bad things can happen without one, and there are many holsters out there that add very little to the overall bulk of having the gun in your pocket.

Was just reading about the Desantis Nemesis pocket holster - sounds really cool - sticky outside so it doesn't move in your pocket, smooth inside for the gun.
