Read the news!

Places that were determined to be be uninhabitable 100 years ago built up due to greed by states, cities, and banks to generate perpetual sources of income. There's a cost to pushing the "Easy Button"

Now everybody pays forever [crying]

Are you talking about Richard Branson's Necker Island?

(A little less Bailey's in the coffee might help with clarity...)

pretty sure he's talking about Florida...but i've been wrong before.

I was kinda hoping this was gonna push into the Chesapeake bay and flood D.C. instead of FL...could you imagine the 'relief package' they would grant themselves if D.C. got submerged?

Oh, Florida. OK.

Greed???? [rolleyes]

Stuff happens. We get crap-tons of snow. Well, sometimes. And it's cold half of the year. And our leaves are on the trees for less than 6 months.

They get far nicer weather, but deadly storms. California gets water issues, earthquakes, fires, etc., But if you've ever been to So-Cal, you get why people want to be there. Something is flowering ALL THE TIME! It's frighteningly beautiful.

Florida is nice, but has lots of heat in the summer, humadidity, bugs and lizzerdz and. . . . . .hurry-o-canes. About once a decade or so you are gonna get pounded somewhere in FL.

It's not greed. People like nice weather. So they flock there.

Chelsea? Ridiculous amount of hotels and apartments going up there. People must be out of their minds.

Chelsea is the gateway to Everett and with the new casino it should be a north Atlantic City.

Can't say I've traveled the globe, but, I like New England, I like the four seasons, can't imagine life without them.
Can't imagine hanging ornaments on the tree in shorts, or not drinking a shot and a beer at midnight on a workday after both the snowblower and plow broke down during a big storm.

Don't laugh: If you bought a couple of sh*thole two or three families near Chelsea Square back during the real estate bust, did some cheap repairs ("Loose roof shingles? Eff it - just Elmer's Glue em. The idiot yuppies and illegals won't notice or complain") and have them on the market right now?..You won't have much time for logging on to NES after they sell (and you're busy planning your dream vacation to some beautiful tropical location and maybe buying a beachfront getaway condo or three when you're there).

Just go online and look up the real estate transactions near "Fort Hill, Roxbury" over the past 15 years. Cha-plus-ching equals "See ya when I get back...if I come back".

Person who has probably never been there. [hmmm]

Dude! Skiing INDOORS in the middle of the desert.

No affection https://www.thenational.ae/uae/heri...s-lawyer-no-kissing-allowed-in-dubai-1.462242

“Holding hands for a married couple is tolerated but kissing and petting are considered an offence to public decency,” it adds.“Public displays of affection, as well as sexual harassment or randomly addressing women in public places, is liable to be punished by imprisonment or deportation.”

I'll stick with northern New England... I lived in FL and GA (college in Savannah) for ~12 years and will NEVER go back (to either state). I've considered going to some states close to CA, but have passed on those (at least for now)...

I was living in Chelsea back in 2006 while looking for a house. Real estate agent says, " How about Chel..." Me- "NO.F*cking. Way."

You're right though. It's one of those places where prices go through the cellar floor during downturns and through the roof when insanity hits. Who could of ever guessed they'd be building a casino on top of an old Monsanto plant in Everett to top it off. Poorest city in MA with one of the highest violent crime rates in NE and you still could've doubled your money by buying literally anything and holding it for 10 years.
