Why I am done with gun laws

I think the country as a whole has settled into two camps regarding guns. The grabbers and the ones you described. I think conservatives, even Fuddish ones, have come to realize that liberal policies and excessive political correctness have created these tragedies, and the left is using a monster of their own creation to go after conservative rights.

That's why a few weeks after these events, it boils over and no legislation is enacted, outside of the truly hopeless states.

queen healy is very quiet so far. I will wait for her to lead our way to victory.

She was on tv this afternoon squawking about more gun control and more laws saying now we have to act on it and is also teaming up again with our favorite little troll Linsky. Stand by, it’s coming.

You know I always think about how easy it is for anyone, including kids, to find ILLEGAL drugs if they really wanted to which are completely banned but the gun grabbers think that by completely banning guns that what; someone hell bent on getting a gun won't be able to? So they can't keep drugs out of high schools but banning guns would keep them out.

I think the widespread noncompliance with regards to the bumpstock ban shows that you are far from alone in this regard. The gun laws only affect those who bother to follow them, the criminals certainly don't care and murder is already our most serious offense with the harshest sentence yet it happens everyday. More laws don't prevent crime, they just make more.

I think by and large you're right but there are exceptions. I still see some people I thought were pro-gun start to concede things like background checks after events like Florida. The only thing to do is tack hard right and say the 2A requires the government to issue a gun to every citizen (on a voluntary basis of course), and individually tax those that don't own guns at a rate of oh say, $3000/year, to increase with inflation.

I can’t wait for ‘the war on guns!’

been said many times in threads here and other sites----they don't want so-called " assault weapons", these mofo's want "all firearms"

I agree with your thesis except that when it comes to gun control the left always goes for the low hanging fruit. It's easier to go after gun shops and stores than individuals. They know that pulling some poor soul in court and trying to make a spectacle case out of owning an AR15 is not only bad publicity but very likely to backfire right in their faces.

It’s not any gun nor is it any law, or lack there of. It’s America, and how much she has changed.

Back in the late sixties as I became old enough to hunt on my own, I was fortunate to live near several remaining farms in my Town. Equally fortunate that the fields there were well stocked with pheasants come October. Most of my group were 18/19 year olds who liked hunting birds. The fields were all within walking distance from our neighborhood, so walk we did, with our shotguns on our shoulders. I carried my 1968 Wingmaster 12 ga with me. Still have her today although the scars picked up along the way now betray her age. As we walked we certainly drew attention. Friendly attention. “Have fun”, “good luck”, “hey, if you have an extra bird or two I would be pleased to have one” were the normal conversations along the route. It was a time I still remember fondly.

So some 40 years later I would ask you, how far would those teenagers, walking down a public way, with shotguns on their shoulders, make it today?

Not very far I would say. Within minutes 911 would be called, every Cop in the area would converge on us with guns drawn, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say it would be highly likely we would be shot dead within minutes, if not seconds, of the Cops arrival.

How in hell did it come to this, to the blatant disregard for human life, the killing, the murders, the collapse of a moral structure?

Many factors is an easy answer. But I do believe there are two common denominators. The acceptance of violence in our lives, through media, through TV, through video games, through movies and the like. A desensitization to the brain accepting this as acceptable behavior. The second being the lack of treatment or realization that mental illness sometimes means the mentally ill can’t live among every day folks and need to be institutionalized.

How have these two common denominators push their way to the fore front? Liberals, Liberalism, Socialists, Progressives or whatever you want to call them.

Violence in America and Liberals are joined at the hip. A pox upon our Nation, a curse that is slowly but surely eating away at the fiber of morality, decency and all that was once the back bone of America.

It’s stopping the insidious creeping of Liberalism into America that is now the most important job for those of us who understand the immense job at hand. We can’t fail.

When I see the likes of Elizabeth Warren spewing her hate with that wretched scowl my blood boils. But at the same time I gather my thoughts and realize that stopping her, and all who think like her, is not going to be easy, they are firmly entrenched. But somehow, someway, she and her ilk must be stopped. Failing this our Nation will cease to exist. Yes the land mass will remain, but what America was will be gone forever.

My heart goes out to all of those who perished yesterday.

You forgot about fatherless children. Especially in the inner cities. When there is no fear if punishment of the old man kicking your ass, you think you can get away with anything.
I have not read anything of this Cruz kid in FL, but I'm willing to bet dad isn't around much, if at all.
The other thing I've noticed, is this shit has accelerated with the women's movement. Letting institutions and nannies raise the kids, either by choice 'i want a career and kids'... or by force (cant pay the bills unless mommy works). Imagine, dropping the income tax to 10%, see how many moms leave the workforce, or dads even, as they get to keep more of their money ...
I'd love to see research in those areas

As for well thought out laws, look at the legislature. We have batty old women who couldn't think through changing a flat tire. And they are planning society.

Yeah, they would take the lug nuts off first before jacking up the car, creating a whole different set of problems! Good example. Tackle a problem by making it worse, the final solution would be to abandon the car and buy a bigger, more expensive one

The Norway shooter went all over Europe to find his guns. He found the ultimate gun free zone, an island with hundreds of kids and no guns except his.

Some of my leftist coworkers have been squawking on social media and in person about how we need to ban all semi autos, require psych evals for gun owners, limiting number of guns allowed to be owned, etc.

The funny thing is, these same liberal shits are the same ones who are always bragging about getting shitfaced and driving drunk without being caught by the cops, do drugs on the job, etc., but yeah guns are the problem.

Nikolas Cruz and his sibling were adopted when they were quite young. Parents seemed to be doing a good job with the kids till dad died unexpectedly in 2005. Mom "did her best" according to neighbors. She got the flu this past fall and died due to influenza complications. Nikolas went to live with the parents of a friend. Now THEY are getting hammered: "Why did you let him bring a gun into your house?"

Nik sounds like maybe bad biology combined with some shitty luck in life.

Funny how when I went to high school, when Maura went to high school, Linsky, Whitehouse & all of them went to high school AR's were sold @ all LGS's everywhere & "school shooting" wasn't in any ones vocabulary yet now they're responsible for all the violence. Not social media or people's crappy parenting but the things that have been there for 50 plus years fault. Sure..Okay.

And the fact that the school shooting that put school shootings on the map happened in 99, smack dab in the middle of the FAWB. That's why they had to blame Marilyn Manson & video games cuz they didn't want to draw any attention to the fact that gun control is a failure

..and Judas Priest caused suicides in the 80's

Looks like you guys in MA are going to get "Freedomed" even more.

It's just "common sense" gun laws.
Because if we pass one more law, it'll work.
Criminals are sure to obey THIS law.
Nobody needs ASSAULT WEAPONS.
Or HIGH CAPACITY clipazines.

The above bllsht aside. I truly believe that Graham's killhouse rules are right.
I have them on my wall in my home office. Rule #1 - Nobody is coming to save you.

I tweeted a reply to Healy, asking what is the definition of 'Assault Weapon' - I lost the link the FAQ site but it had changed about 6 times from July to August 2016.
