Other than all the firearms they have donated to the GOAL Foundation, what they have had to go through over the past decade, under British ownership that capitulated to Clinton’s little rights suppression agenda, and the embargo by gun owners, they still stand by their products.

Last Friday I was shooting my 1911Sc, performed (a flawless) mag change. When I retrieved the magazine all that was left was the magazine body and floor plate. The 1911 and other mags worked as expected for the rest of the afternoon. Flawless piece of machinery that S&W 1911.

Well today I called S&W Customer Support told a gentleman named Larry what happened to the magazine, I didn’t even mention that it was one of the factory mags with the S&W logo, he asked for my address and said a new magazine will ship out to me.

Smith & Wesson’s Customer Service treated me right, that is all I have to say.

Wait until something actually goes wrong. I had a POS revolver that had been stored poorly and the internals were probably all corroded. Not only was it completely repaired, but the finish was redone and shipped back at NO CHARGE.

I've had several guns repaired in this way from a few manufactuers. Now if I can just get Dodge to take my Truck in for a refurbish at no charge.... (^_^)

I have had similar experiences with them.

The P99 40S&W 10 round mags were known for the floor plates breaking. EVERY time I broke a floor plate, they would send me a new mag free of charge, because they were out of floor plates. Once the new floor plates were available, they sent me 10 of them in the mail just to have as backups.
That is how I ended up with the mags in this photo.

Of these mags, there are the two that came with the gun, and only one I purchased on my own. Also there are 2 mags not in this picture that are sitting loaded and waiting in bug-out gear.

We have used S&W autos since the early 80's. The RARE time we every had a problem, the factory, or at the time authorized service centers would repair it quickly. Never a charge, even for the third owner.......Some of the original 659's are still on the job and working without a hitch.

When I bought my cs45, I got a mag with a bent lip on it. Before I even sent in the warrentee card, I called them and asked if they would exchange it. They said they'd send me a new one. Didn't care who I was, they took my word that I had a CS45, since they didn't even have the card yet. I got it in 2 days.

I wouldn't hesistate to buy S&W autos, I think the flak they got for what happened under British ownership is unfair to the American men and woman that actually make up the majority of the employees.

That being said, I still won't buy one of their centerfire revolvers with the lock. Why should I pay more for what is a cosmetically inferior product to me, when there are many fantastic used guns out there? They are doing themselves and their customers a disservice with it. Have they ever made a statement about why they put the locks in? Even the M&P has an option without a lock.

I have a few S&W's, & have called the customer service department on 2 occasions. Much to my surprise, I actually got very good service on the phone, & they didn't even ask for proof of purchase or anything like that. Kudos to S&W, especially in this day & age of 'press 1 for English', etc.

The guy who INVENTED the lock is the guy who bought the company from the Brits. Too much of his ego invested for the company to admit it is an uneeded pieice of shit.

They've treated me good every single time I've dealt with em. The only problem I had was with FedEx when I shipped my last model 10 back. The ejector rod kept walking on mine so I couldn't open the cylinder, the installed a whole new crane, cylinder, and rod free of charge, and shipped it back UPS.

I have a 5905 and 642ct, both perform very well and I am a member at the range which is very well run, and the retail store is always got a nice selection of firearms.
