Who's buying a switchblade?

Great! one less thing I need to worry about emptying out of my pockets when crossing the state line.🔪

Just picked one of these up last week.Pro-Tech Strider PT

when are they going to legalize dirks?
🗡️Even NH used to have a dirk ban (repealed in 2010).

All that said, carrying a "orange firearm-shaped knife with a spring-assisted blade" is still a crime against fashion and common sense.

Blade HQ Here I come
it`s like an inventory overload when you look there, from $6 to $400 and frankly difficult to say what makes $400 any better than a $6.
dunno. they run a sale now, what is even worth to look at in a $30- $70 segment of what is on sale?

Been buying these for years here in NH
They actually hold and edge pretty good and are cheap enough that I don't worry about them.
Those Boker-Kalashnikovs are great, keep them in the kitchen drawer as loaner for out-of-state visitors.

If you look at Blade HQ's brands and pricing, there's a jump from <$71 "knife-shaped-objects" to +$140, with a significant increase in quality (materials used, and build quality). There's a diminishing return as you get in the multiple hundreds of dollars (at least for a production knife, customs are a different animal).

This thread has a bunch of reviews for switchblades off of Wish. I fell for the lure of them and bought 4 knives this past Christmas - 3 of them are pretty good. Not bad to just get a switchblade for the cool factor.

I bought a Boker Kalashnikov 3 or 4 years ago, and it's been part of my EDC rotation. Has needed sharpening, but the action is still strong and the lockup is still tight.

i have several chinese open assist knives, they are ok for beaters but steel is crap. definitely not what is indicated on them.

wife and i were just in toledo spain, walked around, it is amazing how much stuff they got there, people here would just go bananas. damascus for peanuts. :) really cheap.

For a low priced blade the Boker's are surprisingly good.
I beat the hell out of a pocket knife and they hold up better than the Buck's and Schrade folders I've used in the past.
They stay tight and open fast.
Best of all they won't open in your pocket when you don't expect it like my Buck does.
It sucks to sit down in public and suddenly have a blade pointed at the jewels.

I'm sad for my buddy Chuck Would. :(

He was a big auto fan. He carried this micro super-expensive auto illegally for a # of years. Just'b'cuz. It was a custom somethingorother. Knob should know what it was.

He's rolling in his barely cooled grave right now. :(

These will get to leave the house more often. The otf is a cheapo but it seems to work really well considering. I may look into a Microtech

This one usually is clipped on. It's just the slightest nudge spring assist opening. My brother (he bought it for me) and I joke about it - it's really not a switchblade! I swear!
