It’s 10:30 AM and I just finished all of my yardwork. Normally it would just start getting hot, but damn is it hot this morning! I’m completely soaked in sweat and I’m gonna be heading to the shower soon. This is one of those days were you either hang out at the pool or at the ocean. Hopefully none of you guys or gals have to work outside today. If you do I’m feeling sorry for you already. Remember to stay hydrated and try and stay in the shade if you can. Good luck

I have to run some errands shortly then I plan to stay inside where the ACs are running to keep the place livable. There's no yard work needing to be done this weekend. I'll be blasting the AC in the truck too.

Went into the garage/basement earlier and it was warmer than yesterday. Hoping it cools down a bit in there so I can get some stuff done. If not, the heat breaks after tomorrow. So I can always do things starting Monday after work.

Just hope it's nice next weekend. I have some things I need to get done in the garage that I can't do when it's this blasting hot.

That's more than some people do in a month. ;)

I remember doing roofs and also paving jobs when I was younger in this kind of heat. Roofs are usually good in the heat, as everything lays and sticks nice. When it's this hot though, you start tearing shingles as you walk on them, and hammering right through them. Plus, the grit gets into your armpits something fierce. Paving, you just lose a lot of weight, like 5-10 pounds in a day. Sometimes, your feet almost start blistering.

Been in and out , doing a brake line replacement on a GMC pick up. I need the truck for Monday. Soaked already. Taking breaks in between tipping the body up and removing old lines. Might take longer than normally get it out today, in tomorrow. Then just have to bleed all the brakes.

Remember your pets. Keep them hydrated too. If you take Dogs out for a walk, don’t let their feet burn on hot pavement.

Have to go to a baptism tomorrow for my niece, which means wearing a suit in a Catholic church. What are the odds they’ll have A/C? My luck with A/C in catholic churches hasn’t been great in the past.

What are you going to plant? I'm already picking cukes, zucchini, summer squash, and tomatoes. The bell peppers are almost ready. Kudos for getting out there in the heat! My garden is just containers on my deck, easy peasy

93 here already. Not a fan of this heat, worked outside everyday from 7:30-5:00 for 15 years minus temps to temps today doing Auto Glass replacement, that glass was HOT. I usually lost about 15 lbs every summer.
Buds called and said let’s ride later around 7:00 when it cools down, I just said you do know it’s going to be 95 at that time ..... Electric fans are great but not for blowing hot air on your legs.
    Plus UFC and the
    Pacquio
    fight are on

Think you're screwed. I've never been in a Catholic church that had AC. I'd be rethinking that suit for business casual at the least. Khakis and polo shirt sounds about right.

I’m not even going to mow my lawn until the heat breaks, I’ve got a couple of spots browning out so I need to add sprinkler times on them.

Good day to mow the grass.... that should teach it a lesson, and reduce the need for mowing again in the near future. Just dont water, it only encourages it grow faster.
Fyi, for some reason, local beach parking was already full by 10am.. dont bother with Gloucester, unless you really need to jamb in with all the other rotisserie chickens laying on the sand and like traffic.

My garden is already in and producing. This plot is getting chicory and some oat grass. I feel really bad for the hungry deer. deercrop.JPG

Been telling the GF that I'll probably be cooking up a nice pot roast, beef stew or roast turkey
    for dinner tonight.

She thought I was serious until I started laughing.

Nice plot. What's the Venus de Milo thing doing? Scarecrow? Looks creepy, either way.

Came up to the family lake house yesterday to get the grass cut, and to prep the place for my boys and their college buds arrival. The pic is of the mill pond side of the property, there's the 400 acre Ashuelot pond on the other side of the place. There's no AC here, it's unrealisitic to stay in the water for the next 36 hours, and I can't hang with 8 25 year olds anymore, so i'm heading back to central AC and the wife.

THIN short sleeve white button down shirt, optional tie.

This is backwards. THEY should be taking care of the mowing FOR YOU!

THAT will slow them down enough, and allow YOU to enjoy your place by the water, or in the water.

I like the way you think. This is the first time they'll have been up here alone since the property transitioned to the 'family house' from 'Grandpa's house'. On top of that, I've been travelling alot, in LA 2 of the last 4 weeks, and there again for the next 2 weeks. Not my cup of tea! And, my wife actually still enjoys my company, so ...

I was going to ask if that was LT Dan (demolition ranch style)...

Got the bolts and such to secure the mill to it's base earlier, plus another bag of hardwood lump charcoal (so I don't run out) and did a quick grocery stop stop.

Glad I can exercise fully indoors (treadmill) where the temps are nice today.

Was nice in Maine on Thursday. Even yesterday morning was nice up there. Left my uncle's place in Wells yesterday afternoon and it was starting to get hot. Gave him my spare merrit badge since he's earned it over the years. ;)
