I agree with your use of chokes. I am a skeet shooter and use skeet chokes obviously but before my O/U I was using an IC choke on a semi and pump.. For trap I use Full. I was going to state that nowadays skeet shooters use longer barrels. I use a 30" now in competition. I guess back in the day they used shorter guns but nowadays its longer. For O/U I go about two inches longer than on a semi or pump. In the end the right length and fit still depends on the shooter.
