Who Needs Tools??

I agree with most of that. You will need tools to do the following:

Replace the sights (mostly the front one)

Stake the grip screw "nuts"

Stake the plunger tube

Incidentally, these are also the three things I recommend a builder have done by a competent gunsmith.
 
I do beleive Brownings middle name of Moses is so fitting, for some higher power surely must have guided his thoughts when he made such guns as the M1911 and M-2. I mean, how many other weapons designed in the early 1900's are still in service today?
 
Another instructor and I have a running joke that we both must be members of some spin-off Muslim sect, for which the prophet was JMB rather than Mohamed. Browning's name is almost certain to come up in a conversation, at which point we'll pause, bow our heads slightly or raise our palms up muttering "praise be upon him". You don't think that the 1911, Hi-Power, BAR and Ma Deuce were all invented my just some shmoe from Utah, did you? It was all obviously divine revelation. [wink]
