The President’s plan to protect our children and our communities by reducing gun violence

Most gun owners are responsible and law-abiding, and they usetheir guns
safely. The President strongly believes that the Second Amendment guarantees
an individual right to bear arms. But to better protect our children and our
communities from tragic mass shootings like those in Newtown, Aurora, Oak
Creek, and Tucson, there are four common-sense steps we can take right now.

Ahhhhh... MOST... MOST Gun owners. You mean the ones that allow a whack job basement troll who deserved to be thrown into a puzzle factory for 10 - 15 years?

While no law or set of laws will end gun violence, it is clear that the American
people want action. If even one child’s life can be saved, then we need to act.
Now is the time to do the right thing for our children, our communities, and
the country we love.

Who writes this COMMIE SH1T?

• Take executive action to enhance tracing data:
When law enforcement recovers a gun
during a criminal investigation, they can trace that gun’s path from its manufacturer, to the dealer
who sold it, to its first purchaser. This gun tracing process helps law enforcement solve violent
crimes by generating leads in specific cases and can reveal gun trafficking patterns when large
amounts of tracing data are combined. However, not all federal law enforcement agencies are
uniformly required to trace all guns they recover and keep in custody. The President will issue a
Presidential Memorandum requiring them to trace all such firearms

Is this the camel's nose under the tent for a registry???

And of course, mental health is last on the list... and they want to end the freeze on gun violence research... Yea, I am sure that will be objective and not one sided.
And, a requirement for safe storage...

Sounds like not only did O'Dumbo take the Mass Healthcare system but the Gun laws as well....
Marvelous. I love living in this liberal Mecca.... [thinking]

How many criminals leave guns at a crime scene if they bought it legally?

How many criminals leave guns at a crime scene PERIOD?

How many guns used in crimes are ever traced to the person who bought it from a gun shop, AND was the perpetrator? Anyone? Ever?

I once responded to a trace request on a handgun that was supposedly "used in a crime". The person who I transferred the gun to was never contacted. Strange. Jack.

Now is the time for Politician Control

These clows have come off the tracks and its long past time for there to be criminal consequences for even bringing our rights up for discussion

Is it 2014 yet?

Why is that when official go time is scheduled for? Because I know you wouldn't be living in some dream world where voting is going to fix this situation.

Yea, I gotta say, this whole thing doesn't sound like a solution. It sounds like a big ole pat on the back at the expense of law abiding citizens.

President Urkle has to push this NOW, NOW, NOW. Like everything else this disgrace in the White House has done, he wants to give it the bums rush. Push it through while people are still in a panic, don't give them time to think things through. Read the law after it's passed, just like Obamacare, the bail outs, and everything else.

Don't give legislators, non WH sanctioned lobbyists or reporters, or the people he's trying to dupe time to read and digest what the Toomey-Manchin bill REALLY say or it will die.

Besides, the time left for him and other socialists left to stand on the bodies of the dead children of Newtown is running out.

Need to start by examining the failed gun-control experiment called Chicago.

Chicago is not a failure, it's a great victory for gun control. It was never intended to reduce crime, quite the contrary. It was intended to strip non criminals of their rights, which it has done spectacularly. Then when they are totally terrified, tell them that just ONE MORE LAW, will make them safe in their houses and on the streets.

Total reliance on the government is the goal.

Remember, gun control is not about guns or crime, it's about control.

THat whole "if even one child's life can be saved" is such bullshit.

How can you guarantee that many more children won't die - IF YOU ENACT GUN CONTROL?

There was that case of the woman in Georgia or wherever it was - who was in her house - with her two kids - when they guy broke in - in broad daylight.

She retreated to her attic with her kids -and the guy kept coming anyway - she had to shoot him multiple times before he finally backed off.

WTF was going to happen if she DIDN'T HAVE A GUN?

There might have been TWO DEAD KIDS.

So by the presidents own logic - we should give away more guns - because guns obviously created two living kids - instead of saving the one dead kid that gun control allegedly will save.

If we're looking to save even just one child - then there's a whole crapload of things we need to start banning. We can start with swimming pools, innoculations and automobiles.

Top of the list though is probably the US government itself - seeing as how it admitted that it was ok to kill 800,000 Iraqi children if Saddam Hussein could be brought down.

MOTHER ****ER

This is clearly propaganda equaled only by Stalin and Hitler. The morons supporting this are unable to see how subjective and invasive this shit is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ban the U.S. Government - it's for the children.

Madeline Albright says 500,000 dead Iraqi children was worth it, (sorry I thought it was 800,000):

If even one child’s life can be saved, then we need to outlaw automobiles.

If all vehicles were governed at 20mph, I doubt very many children would die in traffic related accidents. You don't NEED to get anywhere any faster than that. Actual emergencies? Well that's what the police are for. They're trained to drive above 20 mph.

I don't know where to begin on commenting on how bad this so called "plan" is for America. This one really doesn't make too much sense, maybe it was written wrong by them:
Eliminate restrictions that force the ATF to authorize importation of dangerous weapons simply because of their age: ATF is required to authorize the importation of certain “curio or relic” firearms, and outdated regulations include all firearms manufactured more than 50 years ago in the definition of “curio or relic.” But today, firearms manufactured more than 50 years ago include large numbers of semiautomatic military-surplus rifles,
some of which are easily convertible into machine guns or otherwise appealing for use in crime.

Appealing for use in crime? As apposed to using a regular hand gun?

Does that back alley conversation go something like this?

- Hey Joe, got anything besides that Glock 9mm? I gotta knock off a Cumby farms tonight.
* Yea, I picked up a 78 Valmet. Nice wood furniture, interested?
- That's great, what a classic, sure looks more appealing than that ol'Glock I'm used to shooting.

Criminals are going to get anything they can get their hands on, I don't remember reading or watching any news where the suspect said he would have put more effort in not getting caught if he used a firearm with some style.

This is definitely the time as responsible gun owners to stick together and stand for our constitutional rights. Things are getting way out of hand and our congressmen and senators need to know that we are not part of the problem, stricter punishment for criminals and enforcing that jail time is a good start.

" Now is the time for Gun Control........before my term is up." Three more years. Three more looooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnngggggggggggggg friggin years. Then adding Kerry to thr fray. I thought it might be good getting Kerry out of mass, but no difference. Maybe he'll run against Hillary and dilute the democrats voting.
