How much truth is there to this, if any truth at all? I wasn't able to confirm this anywhere. Is this some serious tinfoil?

Not so much tinfoil, as I just don't see it happening. Not at all actually.

This country will begin to lose patience with this gun control battle. The country is going to hell in a hand basket, the economy still sucks, healthcare sucks, and all they care about is guns. Eventually they will have to move past this, and do something else with their free time.
 
This government scares the s$&t out of me. First they provide aid (some sort) to 47% of the population. The amount of govt jobs has increased at a rate that far exceeded that of private sector growth. So, are those getting aid or given some BS job going to vote them out? So they are making close to the majority happy while squeezing the working man. We are going to start feeding on our self (financial collapse). Obama can't even tell you where the trillion dollar stimulus went..hmmm.

who are the only ones who will fight back? Who will revolt against a tyrannical government? The armed citizen soldier who has had enough. We were born as a nation through covert grassroots organization. If you disarm us...under the thumb we stay. Voiceless (you will be labeled a bigot, zealot, moon bat) and powerless.

gun laws only hurt the law abiding. Criminals have no need for laws. Heroin has been illegal for quite some time...no shortage of that now is there? Obama cannot defeat the amendments for, if he does, where will it stop? Propaganda (scary gun BS. Pistol grip = assault rifle. Really?) is affecting the sheeple.

guns have been in this country since the 1700s.....now the violence is their fault? Going to ban pressure cookers too?

The really scary part is that most of the working people are still sound asleep. See my signature before it's too late. The train has accelerated the last 6 months, and it ain't slowin' down!

A. 90% of the people, are in no way in favor of more hoops to jump through.
B. Common Sense?! None of our founding fathers, who knew a thing or two about common sense, would be in favor of this anti-gun agenda.
C. F#$% Gabby Giffords. Stop trying to use tragedy and those afflicted as tools to further your totalitarian agenda.

Finally, the important questions:

1. When the hell will our country put forth a balanced budget?
2. When will we start cutting spending?
3. When will we start seeing jobs come back and the economy recovering?
4. When will we start bring troops abroad home, and stop playing world police?
5. When will we secure our boarders?
6. When will we cut taxes to grow the economy?
7. When are we doing away with the TSA, FEMA, homeland security, and the countless unelected tzars that are a cancer to the people's liberty?
8. When will we bring back proper teachings of American history, the founding, and our Constitution to our deplorable indoctrination camp schools?
9. When will Barry cut-back on weekend golf outings and lavish vacations while America is being sucked into a toilet of socialism and widespread poverty?

It's not Tom Foolery. It is the only power he legally has.

The GCA '68 gave the ATF the power to regulate the importation of all firearms and ammunition. The ATF is part of the Executive Branch (or was when it was part of the Treasury). So Obama can direct the ATF to ban the importation of guns and ammo. Banning accessories is a bit of a stretch.

If the ATF banned the import of ammo, we would be in far bigger dire straights with regard to the ammo supply right now. Aguila and Fiochi are imported. Privi partisan 556 is imported. All Russian caliber surplus ammo is imported. While some here harp on it, wolf and brown/silver/golden bear are imported. I'm sure there is another brand or two that I am missing that is imported.

I can tell you the Russians wouldn't be that pleased we cut off the import of guns as the US sales of Saiga rifles is the only thing keeping the IZHMASH plant open.

It's rampant tinfoiler speculation, so far as I can see. I would love to see him actually do this though, because it would ignite a shitstorm of epic proportions...

I seem to recall quite a few polls indicating that a majority of the American people did not want Obamacare, but Congress ignored that and 'passed it so we could see what was in it.' I'm opposed to legislating based on polls, but if that's the way we're going to do it, then let's start by repealing Obamacare. If they did that, at least they would be consistent.

Polls only matter to either party when they support their agenda.
 
Public Policy Polling said Wednesday Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., has seen her approval rating drop 15 percent from a similar poll in October and points to her vote against the gun legislation as one of the reasons.

"Fifty percent of voters in the state say Ayotte's 'no' vote will make them less likely to support her in a future election, compared to just 23 percent who consider it to be a positive," said polling analyst Tom Jensen in a memo accompanying the poll results.

Overall, about 75 percent of New Hampshire voters say they support background checks, according to the poll.
