Which amendment guarantees the right to not be offended?

An elementary school principal, somewhere in the Boston burbs (Newton, I think)has decided that no mention of Halloween will be allowed there because two parents object to Halloween as it is a pagan religious holiday. 500 kids will not be able to post pictures of pumpkins, witches etc, the same stuff that kids have always enjoyed in our once great country.

In England, banks have stopped giving out piggy banks to kids as Muslims have complained. Also gov't offices there have issued orders that no one can have any pictures of pigs, Winnie the Poo or Piglet pics in their office areas. Elementary schools have been ordered not to recite the 3 little pigs or any other stories about pigs.

Seems we have to adjust and tolerate 'them' but 'they' don't have to adjust and tolerate us.

WHY THE F$#K ARE SO MANY PEOPLE GIVING INTO THIS $HIT ????

In case you might have not noticed, I'M PI$$ED ! Sorry for the special characters. Delete it if you must.

No, I'm with you on this Pilgrim. It doesn't make any sense.

Like I said, people want to meddle with thing that don't concern them just because they can.

We had a guy that didn't believe in holidays at my last office back in Ohio. Becuse of him, all of a sudden we weren't able to have Thanksgiving parties, or Halloween Parties, or Christmas parties. It really pissed me off. We were doing this all along before he came to work here.

SO, we had to have a Fall festival, and the winter something or other. It sucked. We didn't have a secret santa, we didn't get to have a cookie and candy swap at halloween, it was sicking. In an office where you don't get to do much, those things were the ones that kept you sane.

I was transfered to here, and my boss here thinks like I do. He doesn't care. If we want to do something, you deal with it, or don't do it. It's that easy.

I'm waiting for one of 'them' to object to a Catholic church or Jewish Temple being in the town he's in as it's a representation of the infidel's religious beliefs and he is offended.

Will we cave?

Probably not, but at what point do we draw the line and say enough is enough. How much will we lose before someone has the guts to stand up and say "NO". Apparently our educators and most politicians don't have the balls. (sorry).

I heard there is a new unofficial organization called POOP:

People Offended by Offended People. Count me in.

That is a growing trend in this country. People who have always been pacifists, pushed around, and quite honestly cowards, are using the goverment to get back at everybody they can because now they can.

Why can't the Newton superintendant tell the complainers to STFU?

This PC shit is ruining this country.

Yea, that PC crap is a pain in the ass.

We've started to walk around on egg shells because everyone is afraid they might offend someone.

Well, I still fart, burp, and pick my nose at MY dinnertable.

And I let my daughter tell me she farted after she says Excuse me, and to let her tell me she has boogies in her nose.

If someone doesn't like it, piss off. It's MY kid and I'll raise her however I want.

She's only two and will say excuse me if you're in her way. And says excuse me when she burps and farts. She also says please and thank you. So if she want's to say boogie and fart. It's ok by me.

I'm an SOOOOOOOOOO sick of this BS. If the truth be known - Halloween (or All Hallows Eve as designated by the Catholic Church multiple centuries ago) is a Pagan holiday, HOWEVER, the Church in her infinite wisdom, decided to allow their flock to participate in the celebrations that went on because it's the eve of ALL SAINT'S DAY. (Nov. 1st) They allowed them to "run amuck" and have a good time because the following day they had to behave and be as pious as possible. Kind of like NO before lent. So if those parents are P'd off and offended, they've
got no one to blame but the Catholic church. They need to get a life. [roll]

(As an FYI, Halloween is the Pagan holiday of Samhain (Celtic word prounounced Sow-in).)

"If you don't like it, don't look at it," said Cindy Bohm

That about sums it up..

You know... This shit is pissing me off.. America is a county of tolerance. You come to our country, and want all it has to offer, then shut the f*** up and tolerate our rituals and heritage JUST the same way we tolerate yours.

I think Tom Cruise said it best as Ron Kovic in "Born on the Fourth of July"

"Love it or leave it"

This is America, this isn't your old country! You came here for a reason, if you want it to be like YOUR home land... GO THE f*** HOME!

OK Now I'm all worked up...

This shit pisses me off!

Well, I was going to say something but all my opinions have already been expressed in all the other posts above.

I'm going to start an new organization called;

P.O.R.K

People Offended by Religious Kooks

The new motto will be:

Be like Kermit the Frog and eat more pork!

OK...
I'll join in! But only if I am allowed to walk my pet pig through areas that are densely populated by folks who will be offended by it!

Adam

They sure do... And who's to say they aren't offended by the smell of the people who don't like them?

I know I am!

In reguards to how 'sensitive' this country is..

"Its for the children.."

I am VERY unPC.

I don't call people <ethnicity>-Americans. I call them either by their name or black man, white man, Native etc.

Yah, I'm gonna be either well loved or hated at the college I teach at.

Though, I do like making liberals cry so it would be worth it.

And new sig to offend the PC set. And I know its a common one, but it is so nice.
