Hey everyone. I am going on a yearly camping trip with some buddies in a couple weeks to a campground right outside of Bethel, VT and we are looking for a place to go shooting and not get bothered. Nothing crazy, just my 1911 and a couple shotguns and rifles; biggest rifle caliber is a 30-30.

Any recommendations? Outdoors is what we really want.

Try Sparks Pit, Ripton, VT (Google 3150 The Natural Turnpike Ripton, VT).

Nice sand/gravel pit to go shooting. Very primitive site, NO amenities. It's off of a gravel road, and the road off the gravel road is a twin-track path - if you have a lowered sports car, go VERY slow. (my nephew center-punched the oil pan on his VW when we went up there).

Please clean up after yourself, too - we don't want it getting shut down. And bring bug spray, too - you'll want it.
