Where to go [AR] Furniture Shopping?

Forgive my ignorance. I started out with a pistol for HD, and would like to expand to a rifle.

So, I'm about to dip my toe into AR's with a 15-22 (followed by an Appleseed, and then an entry-level Windham) - having no experience whatsoever other than a few rentals at MFS - where can one go to explore different hand guard options, sights, etc. etc. etc.?

I know it's cart before the horse at this point, but honestly - how does one know whether they like one brand of buis versus another, red dots or any of the assorted options without breaking the bank? The options seem endless, and forum opinions...

South shore there are a number of options for EBR (evil black rifles) stores. Ephesian Arms in fall river and zero hour arms in Easton. Both have piles to look at and fondle
