Where is Jay Severin?

I listened to somebody named Michael somebody or other yesterday afternoon, I guess he is the new replacement and Hannity is back in his usual time frame. Anyway, this Michael somebody or whoever he was, was absolutely horrid. I don't know how he passed the audition.

Jay was a great agent provocateur. I think a lot of other folks took him more seriously than he did himself....damn even though I frequently disagreed with him. he was always entertaining, and sometimes even brilliant.

WTTK has a mighty big gap in its programming right now.

Regards,

Mark

Yea I agree, this replacement Micheal guy has big shoes to fill with taking Jay's spot on the radio. I enjoyed listening to Hannity too because he is as far right wing as possible, much like myself.

It's Michael Grahm (sp?). Well...he's not Jay or Sean. I think he's only on this week (at least that's the dates listed on the web site), so it may just be a temp thing.

Where’s Jay? Jay Severin signed a syndication deal with a competing company as reported in the newspapers. We are in ongoing negotiations with Jay and hope to reach a decision soon. Until a decision is reached, Jay will remain off the air.

When the Jay Severin groupies used to call up and ask him about going national he always said he'd do it but not at the expense of the Best and Brightest. What an a-hole liar. He always struck me as a liberal & a blowhard anyways. I did enjoy the Stone Temple Pilot bumper music.

He never struck me as a liberal, except when he was discussing the War in Iraq. Then he used every liberal argument, without seeing the irony.

It's actually pretty standard in the radio industry that when someone signs a deal with a competing station or syndicate to remove the person for the duration of their existing contract. Same thing happened to Laura Ingraham when she left Westwood One.

It's also entirely possible that Severin will end up back on TKK if they decide to pick up the show.

Michael Graham has a similar history to Severin. He's mostly known as a Republican consultant. I'm not sure if he has a syndicated show or is just doing this as a fill in. He's pretty wacky, but I don't know if that's a bad thing or not.

Gotta cut Graham some slack. He's got a tough act to follow.

I wasn't Severin's greatest fan, but he was the smartest thing on the radio on the drive-home timeslot. He needed some time off at the end anyways--his audience was hammering him on the War in Iraq issue.

It's too bad he didn't get to burn up the airways about Miers. He probably hates having downtime at just this moment.

I used to enjoy his program, after I first started listening to it.Then it seemed all he was doing was pumping his ego.

"Whooo said this was gonna happen? I did,me.Jay Severin"

He would also answer questions from callers and then give a 5 minute monolouge. The bad thing was,if another caller called and asked the same question,he would then spiel the same shit.

The final straw for me,and I was glad to see him go was his defense of Shitney Sheehan. That was too much for me.

Personally,I am quite surprised he got syndicated, his show wasn't THAT good.

I like the past format myself.

Eegan and Brodie
O'Rielly
Hannity
Laura

The new guy is kinda cool, but his voice is kind of annoying.I drive a truck all day,so I loisten to the radio talk shows A LOT!

He was right about 50% of the time, higher if you discount everything but politics. However, he predicted Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004. He said that by picking Cheney as VP Bush gauranteed a loss in 2000. Then there was the great Anthrax hysteria after Sept. 11. He's been wrong about everything he predicted in Iraq. I could go on (and on), but you get the point.

Unless someone disagree with him. Then he'd use all the liberal style personal attacks and change the subject. Especially when the caller was right.

Compared to the competition it was. Then again...

XM is very nice! <G>

The wierdly ironic thing about this thread is just yesterday I was wondering what happened to Jay,so I did a search and found out. This morning,a co-worker asked me what happened to Jay,and I was actually able to give him an answer.

Now this thread!

WTF over!!!

As far as satellite radio,I will most likely get one once Howard Stern switches over.

I meant like a liberal in tactics. He'd use PETA like tactics to make his point.

I also didn't like how he'd slam the "AM Morons". He was specifically going after WRKO & Howie Carr. Same time slot. Howie shares many of the same positions as Severin. No good for the greater conservative cause. Savage does this all the time too. Going after Rush, O'Reilly, Hannity, etc. Win the battle but loose the war mentality.

BTW, Anyone dissapointed that Peter Blute is gone? I think his level headedness really helped to balance out the shock jock Scotto.

Grahams OK. No Severin though. He got fired form his last job for refusing to apologize for saying there is a tie betweeen terrorism and the muslim religion. Good for him I say. If I had my way, Laura Ingram would be on all day.

Ms. Ingrham is very bright, well educated and attractive. The only two things I don't like about her are her voice (which really irritates me) and her politics :D

Mark

But shes a looker. [wink]
