Just courious, I just shot my first 600yd comp. last weekend and one of the satisfying things was that my reloads (untested at 600yds) all performed great. Whats your recipes?

I used
.308 Lapua brass, CCI-BR primers, 44.5Gr. Varget and 175Gr. SMK's.
.223 BHA match brass, CCI-BR primers, 24.6Gr. Varget and 75Gr. Hornady BTHP match bullets.

Whats in your chamber?

I've been getting really good results with this

.300 Win Mag Norma brass
Berger 185 gr Moly VLD's
Winchester magnum primers
62gr IMR 4350

Was putting them in a 3" circle at 600yrds 2 weekends ago.

7.62 NATO:

Lake City 65 Match Brass
42 gr H4895 or 42 gr WC846
Win LR Primers
168 Sierra Match Kings (165 HPBT Game King if hunting)

7.62x54R, in RomAK 3

Graff Brass
Win LR Primers
46 gr WC 846
Sierra 150 Match Kings (150 Nosler Ball Tips if hunting)

DryDock - How do you like the 75gr Hornady's as opposed to the Sierra 77's? I'm using 69's for 200 and 300 and I'm thinking of switching to the 75's.

My BM varminter has a 1/9 twist so I'm limited on weight. I tried 77Gr Black Hills ammo and it shot about a 2" group @ 100yds [cry] . The hornady 75Gr Match bullets fly real good 1/2" to 5/8" @ 100yds.
They are still super sonic and stable at 600. They are way more consistant in the seating area also, if you can live wth 2-4 thousandth you can progressive load em.

I can't believe you had that bad of accuracy with 77's. I just loaded up a couple hundred 75's so I'm anxious to see how they group. I've decided on 75's for 2 - 300, and 80's for the six.

I've seen a few guys shoot 77's out 1:9's with good luck. DryDock, if you've still got a few I'd try them at longer distances just to see how they work. I've also known guys to get a 'bad' box fo Black Hills.

I'll give them a try again (77 SMK). At the first match (600yd) my son ran short of ammo (too many sighters) one guy gave him 2 rounds of 80 grain molys, he got 2- 10's with them. So go figure I guess. If I hadn't been there spotting when he fired them I wouldn't have believed it  .
