What's up with this folding stock paratrooper Mauser?

That's pretty rare...

For Fallschirmjäger (German paratroopers) special versions of the Karabiner 98k that could be transported in shortened modes were produced. Experimental specimens with folding stocks (Klappschaft) and with detachable barrels (Abnehmbarer Lauf) are known to have been produced at Mauser Oberndorf.[9]

Modern/post-war modification; deliberate or ignorant false advertising. German paratroopers carried the standard K98k with army proofed "H" stocks, or "L" Luftwaffe stocks; the latter verifiable direct Luftwaffe issue.

Thats, a legitiment design as played with in limited numbers...They also had a 'Take down" version like a jap paratrooper.. These bogus rifles turn up from time to time..There is a guy in NV that has had both types on g.b. before.. Also fake a plastic stock k98.. There are real examples of this rifle at Aberdeen..And the mauser museum..
