Ok, I am curious if anyone plays computer games here. And if so, what type.

I normally play World of Warcraft with brother and friends from back home in Michgian, also First Person Shooters (BF2 and Ghost Recon).

I do love playing real time strategy (Total War and Command & Conquor)
 
I usually play the download games for shooting. I'm not into gaming on the net.

About 16 years ago I actually saved the princess in Mario. :D
 
Possibly the best First person shooter available right now is Counter Strike Source, very realistic online play with 2 teams Terrorists trying to plant a bomb and Counter Terrorists trying to defuse. All of the guns are realistic as well especially the AR-15.
 
I've never been a gamer but I purchased an X-box 360 for my nephews for Christmas. They were quite surprised but not as suprised as me when I opened my gift and found a Playstation 2 with Call of Duty!!

Now if they only gifted me with the dexterity to make it look like I'm halfway decent playing the damn thing I'll be all set!!!

They set up the playstation on my TV while they were visiting and played all day. I couldn't get near the game. They left my house and went back to theirs to hook up the XBox 360 on the 60 inch with surround sound they have in the family room. My sister in law tells me that she woke up at 3 that morning to tell them all to go to bed. Between the Madden football, NHL, racing and the Call of Duty, It sounds like COD is by far the most popular (much to the horror of my sister in law :D )

I'm going to work on my game on the PS2 before I go over and attempt to kick their butts on Xbox360. I have to minimize the chance of looking like lame-ass Uncle Bugie in front of them!!

OK maybe I'm just an oddball here but I can spend hours and hours at pogo.com just playing silly games there.
Though on my play station my 2 favorite games are MediEvil and Soul Reaver. Those are along the fantasy/RPG lines.

Half Life 2 came with Counter Strike Source as an extra, In my opinoin the best part of HL2

I would have to say Day of Defeat v 3.1 or Day of Defeat Source is the best first person shooter, guns are all accurate, and it is VERY life like, even more so than any Call of Duty. Although, I still do like Star Wars Battlefront...
 
I like street racing games the most....... hmmmmmm I wonder why? Maybe because theres too much salt on the roads in Maine for me to break either one of my babies out to do some racing.


WoW I have a huge problem with. I remember back in the day with Diablo 2 I would dissapear for weeks. But back then I could. I almost lost my job because of WoW. lol I remember my gamer buddies kept trying to convince me to buy it and I kept telling them I was getting to old to do the gaming thing anymore and that I already had too many hobbies with cars and work.

Yeah, until my friend got a free 10 day trial and gave it to me. I figured how could it hurt?? After 10 days it'll just end. Yeah, between WoW and work I really didn't get any sleep at all. It was like the old days when I would game and go to school. But at least school is easy.

Finally an old girlfriend came for a visit. She saw the tell tale signs of my old addiction. The entire house was spotless except for right around the computer desk. Which was littered with Mountain Dew, sunkist and red bull bottles. I had that dead zombie look and when she walked into the room I didnt even notice her. She took my pc power cord and hid my laptop.


I recovered in record time.

Problem is new girlfriend just bought me an xbox 360 for Christmas. [twisted]

Games like the Hitman Series (A new one is coming out next month)
the Thief Games
The First Deus Ex (The Second one just wasn't very good)
and to some extent the Splinter Cell games (though they feel more "Scripted" than the others)

I love working to minimise any action taken against myself, and totally dominating the opposition 8)

FPS are fun for me, but only in small dosages.

If you like FPS, you may like Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Me and my friends love the series because of the ease of modding it.

And of course, being gun nuts, we redo some of the ballistic info to add in a bit more realistic feel.
