Looks like a dobsonfly...? How big is it?
Seems unpossible - I found a live one once, cooling all six of its heels
underneath the porch roof at Mill Village Country Store in Stoddard, NH
when we stopped there for ice cream after mineral collecting
on 23-Jul'16. It was about this big:

Not my hand, not my dobsonfly.

But...very good guess - it looks like an alderfly.
Or maybe a stonefly.
(Neither of which I've heard of; but the Wikipedia dobsonfly article
refers to alderflies as relatives).

All three have aquatic larvae/nymphs.
On the one hand they are more ferocious than adults.
On the other hand, the young being aquatic I doubt
there are eggs in the house, let alone that they could
survive and grow after hatching with no running water to live in.
