What izzit?

It looks as if one side of the hilt is missing.


Any ideas?

Knife, Bolo M-1910. Looks to have had the top half of the hand guard cut off.

Dennis:

My feeling is that it is. Below is an image of the 1917 version. The only real difference between the two was that the 1910 version had a small latch in the hand guard that was supposed to secure it to the scabbard. The 1917 eliminated that feature.

While modified, the handle looks, to me, to be the original.
