what & how much do you reload?

Now that I'm getting into reloading, I'm dying of curiosity to find out:

What do you reload? It is just one or two calibers that you shoot the most, or do you reload everything you shoot? Which calibers are worth reloading, and which do you just buy?

How much do you reload? Are you guys reloading a little here and there, as needed, or are you guys churning out thousands of rounds/month?

Thanks for satiating my curiosity!

p.s. does it make sense to buy reloading components in bulk? especially with prices skyrocketing, if there's a few products that everyone uses, can we get a NES deal going on?

The pistol and cowboy guys are the ones churning out tons of rounds. The only caliber I load in bulk is .223 (maybe 1500 rds a year?). I also do .308, 30-06, 6.5X55, and .358, but on a much lower scale.

Buying componants in bulk is the only way to buy them. You save a lot in shipping and haz-mat fees (for primers and powder). I've always got my ears open for deals on stuff and usually save a bit. Some of the bigger reloading houses run specials on brass or bullets at some point.

You guys that are all clustered together down in Mass could easily get together for a drop shipment from Sierra. That saves you a few bucks on bullets.

I reload everything I shoot, except for the rimfires (of course) and my CCW ammo:

12 ga, 20 ga, 28 ga, and .410 bore shotguns

.32 S&W Long, .38 S&W, .38 Special, .357 Mag, .40 S&W,.44 Mag, .45 ACP, .45 AR, .45 Colt handguns

.223 Rem, .22-250, .25-06, .270 Win, 300 Win Mag, .35 Rem rifles

Last year I did about 25K-30K of .45acp,

This year I'm loading .38 super also. but the .45acp has dropped way off.

Probably 8k of .38 super so far, may 4k of 45acp so far

I do a very little amount of .308, I think I have only shot 50 or so rounds this year

I like to reload a caliber by at least a 1000 at a time. That way I get it all out of the way for a while.

I just did 1200 38's and 400 44 mags. Now I'm doing 3500 45's, 1000 41mags and 1000 32-20's.

When I finish I shouldn't have to reload any thing for a long time.

I handload for everything that I shoot. I'm set up for about 35 different calibers.
When I load rifle ammo, it is usually 100 rounds. When I load pistol ammo it is usually 500 rounds. With this many different calibers, there are guns that don't get used every year so I try to remember to label the ammo with the details of the load so that I can duplicate it a couple years later.

9mm, 40 S&W and .45ACP. Like Bugs- I like to do it in groups of 1000+ for each caliber. Production can't keep up with demand still so I'm always looking for cheap WWB when I can find it at the right price.

9mm, 357 mag, and 38 special. About 12k since I started 6 months ago.
I hope to start loading 9mm mak. and 8mm mauser sometime soon.
Bullets and brass I order in bulk, primers and powder I try to stock up on at gun shows.

OK...

I load .30 Carbine, .32 ACP, .32 H&R Mag, .380 Auto, .38 S&W, .38 Special, .357 Mag, 10mm, .44 Special, .444 Marlin, .45 ACP (and .45 Auto Rim), .460 S&W Magnum, .50AE and .500 S&W Magnum.

I don't load 9mm because I don't shoot much of it and it's still fairly cheap. I don't load .40 because I refuse to own one.

I haven't yet started loading bottle-necked rifle cartridges, but I've been keeping my .223 and .30-06 brass. That's something I think I'll start this winter.

I usually load in quantities of 500-1000 except for the .30 Carbine, .444, and .460. I don't have much brass for these yet so I load a couple of hundred at a whack.

.38 Special, .357 Mag, .44 Mag, .45 ACP, 30-06. I've pared down my calibers
this past year to these. I will add another caliber to the mix this year. If I
don't reload it, I don't own the caliber.

I load .38 super and .40 S&W. I'm loading .40 on a Dillon 650 with a K.I.S.S. bullet feeder and .38 super on a 1050 without a K.I.S.S. I'm loading about 1000 rounds a month right now but hope to be shooting a lot more so hopefully that will be 3000+ per month. It all depends on my work schedule though.

I've just started to get into reloading and so far I'm only reloading 45s. I'm about to start reloading for my S&W 500. I'm hoping to reload for 308 in the near future and so on. We'll see.

Right now just getting started with .223 and 9mm.

Just curious, where do you guys buy your bullets online? Or locally? For the 223 I'm just looking for plinking ammo at the moment... so cheap bullets are fine... 55 or 62gr and something that groups decent preferably. I'm all for buying in quantity. How much do you generally order at a time? 1000? 10,000? Whatever your budget allows?

Any help would be great. Also, if it's an online retailer, please PM me with the response.

Thanks so much!

I load 9MM, 40S&W, 357SIG, 38spl, 357MAG, and can load 45GAP, 44spl & 44MAG and will soon be loading 223 (I have everything but ambition for the 223)

As for how much, it depends on how much it rains. On a Rainy Saturday, I will load 3 to 4K rounds. I have 2 Dillon 550 presses set up at all times for the calibers I am currently shooting. I will be concentrating on loading 38spl and 40 for a while and figure I need to do about 4000 of each in the next couple weeks or I will be out of ammo.

On a Rainy Saturday, I will load 3 to 4K rounds.

I can't imagine sitting down to do that much in one day... that's amazing to me. I have a Hornady LNL and after I do about 300 that's enough for me.

I'd also like to see how others reload some day.... I think I go too slow.

%85 of my reloading is .45. Another %10 is 9MM. The last %5 is a mix of reloading for other people in their calibers and experimentation with calibers I have concluded are not for me.

I have no idea where .45 stands so far. Maybe 5k and it's rapidly rising now that the weather is nice and I am shooting outside of matches and practices.

I reload .45, .38/.357, .44 mag and Spl, and I'm getting .32 H&R... I have dies for a .357sig, but I don't own one...so the dies are just sitting there.

I also load what I need...pretty much a crank out 500-1K when I sit down. I enjoy just running through a few and the coming back to it later. So I don't crank them all out at once.

As I've just moved though, I haven't been able to clean and set up my press yet.. So I haven't reloaded anything in the past few months.

I'll load whatever I need and have components for. With a single stage press and cleaned brass, I can usually load 200 rounds in a couple of hours.

38 Super, 9mm, 380, 38 special, 357 Magnum, 44 Special, 44 Magnum, 45 Colt, 44/40 Win, 45ACP, 45 Auto Rim, 308, 30.06, 45/70, .223, 8x57, 30/30 Win.

As far as how often, I have always got something going on the reloading bench...

Mostly .45ACP but also 9mm (cheaper and more accurate rounds). Prepared to do .40SW, .38/.357, and .223 but have not done that yet. Usually can crank out 200-300 rounds per session.
