Very similar car to the 75 Chevelle I had (still have). 73-77 GM A-body cars - include the Chevy Chevelle and Monte Carlo, Pontiac Grand Am and LeMans and Grand Prix, Buick Regal , Old Cutlass and the Chevy El Camino and GMC version of the El Camino. All built on the same platform. They weren't real popular for a long time - the earlier generations are "cooler" - so now there's not as many of them around.

This is what my Chevelle pretty much looked like after I fixed it up in high school:

and after I started modding and restoring it many years later:

I don't know why - but I really like these cars. There's a lot you can do with them. I used to know them inside and out but I think I've forgotten a few things over the years.

'88 sky blue Ford Tempo (bad ass, I know)
Within a few months of getting it, the front diver side door wouldn't lock anymore and the rear driver door wouldn't unlock so they kind of balanced out.
Sold it about 2 years into college and the engine caught fire roughly two weeks later.

Didn't read the whole thread, but I drove a 5 foot 10 inch readhead. Curiously, I was not the only one.

My mother got a brand-new baby blue 69 Chevelle SS as a gift from her Uncle when she graduated high school. A few years later when I came along (and as gas prices went up from the oil embargo) mom and dad traded it for a shit-brown pinto station wagon.

It was '84 to '86. Started with my great-grandmother's hand-me-down 1973 Chrysler New Yorker 4-door in mafia black, followed by my very own 1979 Honda Accord hatchback.

The redhead fit better in the Chrysler!

Brand spankin new 1993 Z24 Chevy Cavalier convertable. Purchased with my own money I had been saving up since I was 14. I bought it my senior year in High School and it was as my first car. I had it for 3 weeks before some asshat in a Bronco t-boned me in the parking lot as we were leaving school. He was speeding, and hit me so hard it ended up being totalled. Once I realized I wasn't dead there was a slight altercation involving me yanking him out of said Bronco, and I think I was pretty close to becoming a prohibited person, thank goodness for friends.

I had a similar thing happen to me. Just got the car painted at the end of the summer. Coming into school in the first week - and this chick swings WAY wide across the parking lot - turns out she's going for a space that I'm driving past. She hit the rear quarter of the car and wiped the thing out. I was PISSED.

I was even more pissed a few months later after I got it all fixed - it had the car back for like 2 days - it had snowed out and back then they didn't plow the roads real well - so I was going down the hill and a couple of cars were coming up. I pulled aside to let them continue coming - and just as this woman gets along side my car she nails the gas and the whole rear end of her car slides sideways and takes out that very same rear quarter panel I had JUST gotten repaired.

I'm pretty sure she heard me yell out " Are you ****ing kidding me!" [angry]

    83 Volvo 240dl wagon. Powder blue. C/o 98!.

That car always got me where I needed. Broke all the time, but always in such a way that I could limp/fix/fart to my destination.

My slice driving and determination to bark the tires as much as possible destroyed the power steering rack. Once lost serious points by trying to drag a mail truck at a stop light to merge with 6 people in the car. (Failed). Also known for transporting 250 music stands. Could fit 3 timpini in at once as long as some trumpet player was holding the largest one in the gate.

Responsible for totaling three vehicles in its life in my hands with no noticible damage to the car. Punted a trashbucket 30 feet through someone's front door.

Used as tail-end-charley for something like 20 bike races. And one hell of a highschool companion.:)

1975 Oldsmobile Omega... it was a great car, until I drove it into a pond. I wanted to show a buddy a great place to fish, but I misjudged the distance a bit.

Graduated in '88 driving a sky blue 1965 Chevy Impala. The Love Boat. I swear that thing was bigger than my current Dodge Ram 2500 with 8 ft bed and could probably take more abuse!! And she could really move too when she wanted to.
