What did you do to your firearm today.

I haven't done this to my firearm today, but I would certainly consider it to breath new interest into an old design if I can scrape together the cash

Thought it might interest some of you.

Cool.

LOK Grips really are excellent.

I love them on 1911s and have been meaning to order a pair for my Beretta 92 Vertec Inox.

Thanks for the reminder.

Was going to sell this thing but decided to just do a little work to keep it interesting.
How it started.

Installed wilson magwell grips, flat recoil spring and a comp for fun.

I still was pretty unhappy with the slip on magwell fit with the grips. I was looking for a different look. So i ordered one of the wilson round butt magwells. Took a little fitting. But im really happy now with the final outcome. The slip on magwell also wasn't rounded to match the grips like the full magwell replacement.
Part of the blending process and final blueing.

And final assembly with the smith mag in place.

Happy i didn't sell it now😁
Rather than use the rubber band, you can remove the mainspring housing, drill a small hole (about 1/16") and insert a small pin that will catch on the grip safety to keep it down and disable it. The common term is "pinning the grip safety". It's easily reversed just by taking the mainspring housing off and removing that little pin.

Thanks. I never heard of that method. I was using the bands because they were good for slipping the grips on and off easily for checking fit and filing. Rather that using the screws over and over again.

Got my squirrel assassinator 5000 back from a shop, now with a light rail and threaded barrel. I also threw on a red filter on the TLR, so as not to disturb critters with the light as much. Disclaimer: I don’t poach.

God I hate Ruger Mk pistols though. $100 shipping to the gunsmith because the barrel is the firearm. I keep this one because I have it and it’s silly to sell it. But anybody getting into a 22lr pistol, just go for a Browning Buckmark instead.

Also, do you think this is enough flash suppression for a 22lr?

who did you have do the threading and mount work?

I put some Talon grips on my Glock 45 today. Once I try them out on the range I will put grips on my Glock 30. I’ve always hated decals so putting these on were a pain in the rear.
