Let's say someone was in the process of moving from Virginia to Mass, had signed a 1-year lease in Mass, but still held a VA driver's license and car registration.

Let's say this person owned no firearms (yet) and held neither a MA LTC (yet) nor a VA CCW permit (not that it matters much).

And let's say this person wanted to do the following:
- fly to VA for a weekend
- buy one or more handguns in VA
- fly to Mass with said handguns, stored properly of course
- lock up the guns upon arrival
- change residency to Mass
- apply for and receive LTC
- sell the guns ASAP at a small profit

1: Is this legit?
Having read over the "Moving to Mass" thread, this seems completely legal, but is it really? Is this person still "moving" to Mass, or is this person already a Mass resident in the eyes of Mass law (or, really, law enforcement)? What if one were to encounter police on the way from the airport to one's residence? And is there any law against making a little money importing handguns from out of state?

2: What are some relatively cheap, current-production, in-demand pistols that are
(A) NOT on the approved list for dealers to sell
and
(B) ARE legal to own in Mass (i.e. <= 10-rd mags)?

...subcompact Glock? Springfield GI 1911?

Thanks in advance for any advice or help

Answer to question 1: You would be breaking the law.

What could possibly go wrong? Go for it. [thumbsup]

How long does it take a virgin-ian to get a permit and purchase?
Then come to MA, get your LTC and register all your property before selling them...

Sounds like a good plan, keep me updated with what you'll be selling.

This thread isn't going to end well, so I'm killing it with fire before it goes full retard.

BTW, you're talking about two things:

-The world's most inefficient way to make like $400-600, maybe.

-A nice potential trip to club fed if the feds ever found out you were buying guns with the intention of resale, which
depending on the criteria used, can be deemed as "operating as a dealer without a license", which is a federal felony (and
one, if you are convicted of it, will prevent you from owning guns legally for the rest of your life).
