I don't think any smart firearm business would want to operate in that town anyway but it only takes one domino to fall to create the tidal wave

They might as well go for an outright ban. It'll make a more interesting legal challenge. Of course the Mass Marsupials will rule in their favor.
“There are two ways of effectively controlling how our land is used in our commercial districts for gun shops, ” explained Board Chair Catherine Johnson. “We can ban the use, which is the way that the teaser for the warrant article says, or we can restrict it to a certain zone….There are no towns in Massachusetts that outright ban it.”

She said the prudent way to approach this, and lessen the chances of any appearance of infringing upon second amendment rights, would be to restrict where gun shops could go. In Wellesley, that would be only in adult-use zones, of which Johnson said she believed the only one left is in the Mica Lane area of Lower Falls. It would be restricted in the way marijuana dispensaries are restricted in town, she said.

Hopefully they also vote to publish the list of registered gun owners. That way criminals will know which homes are safe to rob while the homes are occupied.
Would love to see a gun owner propose a "gun safety" law that requires all those who don't own guns to post a 2'x3' sign in their front yard declaring the home a GUN FREE ZONE.

That's a set up. They'll change zoning to work like this and then say "We can't put a gun store next to a marijuana dispensary! Think of the children!"

there won't be a challenge to this, until someone applies for a permit to establish a gun shop. otherwise, no individuals will have standing to repeal this in court

I think the only way to beat this stupidity is to encourage them to pursue it and get it passed and then decimate it in the courts.

Because Wellesley has nothing else on its plate except a concern that gun shops will move into town. It's amazing to me that these representatives have nothing else to worry about.

Still ok?

Only if the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tubemen are adherent to diversity and inclusion initiatives. Add 50 more of them in differeing colors, heights and orientations and you got yourself a dildo shop that would pass the rigors of the town zoning board.
