We Upset Mexico

It appears we upset Mexico because W is trying to build a wall to keep illegals out of the US.

The one comment I found particularly disturbing and you can tell its from a liberal....

....opposition parties say it is racist

in reguards to the wall. They try to liken it to the Berlin Wall, but thing is, we don't have guards up there willing to shoot those who try to get in.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against immigrants. All four of my grandparents immigrated from Russia. Through Ellis Island. That is, they immigrated LEGALLY. They spent a couple years in a refuge camp in Constantinople trying to get permission to immigrate.

I'm proud of my immigrant heritage as should be all other legal immigrants and their progeny.

The problem I have is with illegal immigrants. You break our laws, you should be gone, end of story. No bail and "I promise I'll appear for a hearing in 16 weeks" BS.

And the employer who illegally employed illegal immigrants should see major fines as well.

Do me a favor and don't use the phrase "undocumented immigrant" in my hearing. Otherwise you'll trigger a major rant.

I don't have a problem with legal immigrants and welcome them to the country. I think the liberals don't quite grasp the fact that many many others don't like the illegals.

One was to keep people out, the other to keep people in. In both cases, the goal was to prevent osmotic diffusion from a low quality of life area to a higher quality of life area.

How can a wall be racist? Last I checked a wall couldn't give two shits about what race/color/creed or language you speak!

f*** 'em they've been promoting illigal immigration as a social welfare solution for years! Hell I think we should return the favor! Build the wall, then drive through Boston and Cambridge (et al) and pick up EVERY obnoxios pan-handler, and toss THEM over the wall.

Better yet, last I remembered, the obnoxious bums I've seen in Beantown are at LEAST 50% white! Call that racist if you want.

Too bad we upset them. Depends on what they have planned for building that wall. I have lived in Berlin when that wall was still up, and know what it is like to lay in bed at night and hear gunshots go off and wonder if the person made it over or not. We lived a mile from that wall,and that was for me the most unsettling, the not knowing. 9 times out of ten they didn't make it. We only heard if they got across.

Well, I've seen the "Iron Curtain". and I didn't find it pretty. I've also got a friend that did survive jumping the border, and he's got the scars to prove it. I think the only reason he lived was just because he's tough. He's definitely more than earned his citizenship, he's now retired from the National Guard.

It definately wasn't pretty, and it was mined and everything else. I know we have lots of pictures of the wall not sure if we have any where you can actually see the different boobytraps.

The spot where I saw it was at the Meiningen Gap, near the upper end of Route 19. We were responsible for the airspace in the area.
