We are winning the 2A debate

Democrat aholes never sleep.
Just wait till they pack the supreme court with 10 anti gun judges next time they are in power.

It’s great that we are winning big on things like Constitutional Carry but what difference does it make when the Socialists are trying to pass bans on anything over 5 rounds. That means we can’t even carry a revolver. And, where we are having 2A wins in free states we are getting our asses handed to us in the socialist states in the form of enforcement notices, not even laws.

Most of the national gun media has no clue what goes on around here nor understands the complexity of the issues. Looking at a basic NRA or Handgunlaw.us blurb is not sufficient to understand Mass. RI is somewhat similar but rather than being overly complicated, RI is mostly silent. Someone could move into a random RI town, assume they're good to go with applying for a town shall-issue carry permit, and then be looking at a $10k lawsuit in order to get said permit (although I believe this is less of a problem now in most towns).

Note that the gun media is going to focus on the possible, not the impossible. It took two SJC cases and a SCOTUS smack-down for Mass to begrudgingly allow stun guns/tazers. What are they going to report on the Maura Healey lawsuit? "Hey everyone! Look! A motion for continuance has been denied! But the case still isn't past summary judgment yet, so any number of things can happen! In Massachusetts, a place most of our readership has never been to and refuses to 'give money to'! Because most of our readers are middle aged to old, ultra-conservative, and cheap!" Beyond lawyers and judges and people who have an extreme interest in Mass gun laws, who is going to understand or care about that?

As for demographics, I think the internet and video games will solve a good number of problems but will also turn the "hobby" in new, unforeseen directions. Most gun YouTubers mention this. We already know hunting is taking a downturn in participation:

Why We Suck at Recruiting New Hunters, Why It Matters, and How You Can Fix It

I think the hobby is going to get away from being hunting-oriented (it largely already has changed directions) and more towards activism, action shooting, and "hey, I saw the M1895 Winchester in Battlefield 5. I want one now!" C&R collecting. We literally have entire gun channels like C&Rsenal and Forgotten Weapons dedicated to this, with the big ones like Hickok45 helping.

So are we winning or losing????

So are we winning or losing????

Look at laws from con carry to ccw to any number of things......compared to 30 years ago

No question that we're winning......its literally a war and there will be battles won/lost.......

I'm going to say nationally, we're winning. Locally, we're holding on in RI, we were making progress in NH and we have to withstand this year's onslaught, I haven't heard anything from Maine, and we're losing in VT but the NRA and local group's anti-AWB suit is pending. Mass is also dependent on the suit against Healey. Mass is going to be won and lost in court, not in the legislature (IMO, I could be wrong). CT? Yeah get out now before they start tolling you to flee on the highways.

Sure doesn't feel like we are.

Good. Complacency leads to mistakes and falling back on a previously held position. Better to be nervous and keep the pressure on.

The fight will NEVER be over. Let's say in the next 3 years RBG dies, the SC makes 3 rulings:

1. Their previous cases apply to the states.
2. There is no permit requirement.
3. There is no restriction on common-use firearms.

Do you really think that states, judges and some in Congress are going to lay down over that??? We'd all but win but STILL be fighting.

Keep fighting. No matter what. They say to fight until the enemy is down/dead. There is no down/dead in this one. It's a Zompocalypse. Defeat one action, another pops up. It's never-ending.

Press 2 for Spanish.

I had 2 interesting things happen to me this week.

Monday night, me and my son watched Ken Burns' Statue of Liberty. It's less about the statue and more about liberty. Now I get that he cherry-picked the man-on-the-street stuff, but every older American immigrant talked of wanting to be here and integrating into the culture and becoming American. (Except one old Italian guy that I guess refused to speak'a da'English back in the 30's or 40's when he came over. LOL)

Tuesday AM, I was listening to a WSJ podcast about AI. In it, they were talking about dating sites and how Latinos were disproportionately ignored by dating sites and they need sites that cater to them and their cultural quirks like speaking Spanglish and such.

Hmmmm. Why??? Seriously. Why??? You don't integrate and then wonder why the main-stream processes don't fit you???? Ummmm, the country ISN'T the problem.

(Best on the SoL thing was one guy saying that if you immigrate to the US, you think it's the best thing, until you realize it's not quite the best thing. There are problems. There are issues. Oh gosh it sucks. But you don't go back to where you were. You stay. Why? Because for all of her warts, it's still the best place.)

I think some places are winning, like state’s passing constitutional carry.

Others are losing, like New Yorkers just did.

It illustrates how, like prior to the first civil war, the states grew diametrically opposed to each other. Completely different philosophies.

It’s happening again. Not in exactly the same way, but it has the same rhyme and rhythm.

Non-gun owners need to Get Religion...

The more converts we get... the better. Sort of...

It is always amazing to me how MA politicians actually take an oath to support the constitution but then try to find as many ways as possible to undermine it.

"it's a living document" that keeps changing to say what they want it to say regardless of the words written on the paper. After all they keep redefining the meaning of words to increasingly incomprehensible jargon.
