Un****ing beliveable.

Sad and seething with anger all at the same time.

I was going to go to the CNHT Annual Picnic on Saturday to sign the pledge and chat with other liberty minded individuals (many running for office).

But I think I will be driving to Peterborough instead for 9:15 AM.

Who is with me?

And how awesome would it be if 500+ gun owners showed up to block and or surround the WBC freaks?

As far as I can tell this is real. I will not link to their site. You can find it yourself under press releases.

First, they threaten this with every soldier funeral

Second, the PGR will be there to shield the family

Third, while it's absolutely your right, bringing a rifle to funeral is only going to distract from the purpose of the funeral, to pay respects to the young man who died in the line of duty.

If you want to show up, please, do so, but don't go looking for a fight.

Changed. Somehow it seems different when it is a fellow Granite Stater.

While we are gun owners and supporters, this is not a pro gun or even anti gun event. It's a time to say goodbye to a fallen soldier.

Yep.

IMHO going there is no different than them going there.

If they want to be retards, let them. No reason to stoop to their level.

I will be there to join PGR (if they come) in creating a shield wall between them and the memorial services. I would like to think that is what others will be doing there as well.

I see the points of this group but protesting a funeral is just not right. If these people are so dead set on their views they should be protesting the politicians who sent them there.
Sad.....

PGR will be there.

*Marine

He served with honor and distinction, and it's our responsibility to know the difference.

I get corrected by friends and family on this but I must ask. Isnt a Marine a Soldier? they started as "Sea Soldiers" recruitment posters from WW1 read" Be a Sea Soldier" as well as "Soldiers of The Sea".....so I ask? is calling a Marine a Soldier correct or incorrect?.

No one pays attention when you protest a politician.

Soldier is a title reserved for those of us that served in the Army. Marines are just called Marines.

Call them anything you want...with Honor, I don't think they'll mind.

One day the wbc will protest the wrong funeral and get a dose of pain.

They look forward to it. They are funded almost entirely by suing their victims who react to their provocations. The more attention and response/retribution they get, the more vindicated they feel. Their whole "church" is built around "spreading hatred in the name of God" (their own words), so by giving them all that attention of first responding to their BS and then giving them face time in the media (where they portray themselves as victims) and court, it's only helping them to spread their message of hate.

The dunghill gods of Sodom, taps for a fallen fool! Sounds like they prey to a very loving God.
LCPL.Garabrant gets shafted every time he turns around. Now even in death. What has this country come to!

The WBC makes its money on law suits for being denied their first amendment rights and people touching them. Dont be a dummy.

Gentlemen,

Something to add to the quotes above (which /I fully agree with):

You are being trolled. The WBC is one of the most well known professional trolls - they offend the people who are most likely to respond in anger, wait to be "hurt" or "have their rights infringed", then sue AND COLLECT.

Do your homework before lending credence to trolls... and if you want to help, check in with a group that knows how to organize effectively and NOT FEED THE TROLLS with either attention or money. Patriot Guard Riders has been mentioned in the thread already...

You say this, but they did abandon a protest awhile ago when things got a little TOO hairy.

They want to get pushed around, but there was one they almost got annihilated. Even these idiots have self preservation in mind.

I still love the story about down in the deep south one of em was all alone at a gas station and got a beat down.

Then no one could recall seeing the beat down when asked by police! [rofl]

BTW, here is the FB event: https://www.facebook.com/events/589648167820435

From the event coordinator (who is running for state rep IIRC though I can assure you this isn't political):

All: Thank you all for volunteering. I appreciate your help in fighting this evil. Here is the information for Saturday.
1. Absolutely no contact with the WBC clowns. Don't talk to them, don't look at them, and above all, don't touch them. They are looking for one of us to make a mistake. Don't give them what they want.
2. This is a funeral. A family has lost a son, and a nation has lost a hero. This is not a parade or home coming, nor is it a protest against the WBC. We must remain dignified and respectful. The only noise we make, especially when the family goes by, will be the songs we sing together. No cheering. chanting, etc. The Brandon and his family are what's important here, not us.
3. Water: The weather is supposed to be cool and cloudy, but bring water and sunscreen just in case. If you wish to donate bottles of water, soda, coffee, food, etc to the family or the volunteers who are working in the ceremony, contact me and I'll let the organizers know.
4. Parking: Parking for us will be on Vose Farm rd. as you head down Hancock rd toward the school, Vose Farm rd will be to your left. There is no parking along the first part of the road, or in the first lot on that road, but there will be space further up the road. It will be marked clearly by Peterborough police.
5. Time: We will begin gathering at 8:15. Patriot Guard will be lining up about that time. WBC, according to their flier, will be gathering at 9:15. The family will begin arriving 9:30-10:00.
6. Location: We will position ourselves in front of WBC as soon as they get set, however I would like to talk to everyone first. WBC's area to protest will be a small island of grass across the street from the school. IF you look at the map, you'll know what I mean. It's hard to miss. The chief of police has given me permission to line on the street if we have to, but there should be enough room for us all.
7. The Event: Brandon's favorite bible verse, and the motto he lived by (and had tattooed on his back), was Joshua 1:9 " Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” If you would like, make posters and signs with this proverb. It would also be a great idea to write it out on a bed sheet or tarp. It would be very useful in blocking the view of the WBC.
8. Leaving. The Funeral procession will leave the area at 11:30-11:45. Brandon and his family will go first with a police escort, then the Patriot Guard riders, then more police/ fire department. If you are on 2 wheels and would like to ride with them to the Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen, you are welcome to fall in after the last of the PGR.
9. Please no open carry of firearms. The Governor and Senator Ayotte will be there, a well as many very emotional mourners and press. Our job is to minimize stress, open carrying may increase stress.
Also: We will be across the street from the school (off school grounds). Smoking is not allowed on school grounds, nor are guns, nor WBC, so stay on our side... Please pick up all trash in our area before you leave, even if it isn't yours. I'll say that again.. Police up our trash.
Thank you.

Here is one from West VA where a guy spit tabacco juice on Shirley Phelps Roper's chest. Jury in less than 1 hr - Not guilty (even though witnessed by a cop who testified to it). The WBC are so hated, you could do practically anything to one of them and no jury in the country will convict. I think the cult understands that now and that's why they are not as public anymore.

[h=1]W.Va. man acquitted in Westboro spitting trial[/h]Apr. 09, 2011 @ 12:51 PM
The Associated Press

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A West Virginia man has been acquitted of battery charges for spitting on a member of the Westboro Baptist Church during a protest outside a Catholic church in Charleston last year.

The Charleston Gazette reports that Billy Spade of Hico was found not guilty by a jury in Charleston Municipal Court on Friday after deliberating for less than an hour.

Spade told jurors that a sign that as the son of a deceased coal miner, he was offended by protesters holding signs that said “Thank God for dead coal miners.” But it was the sign that said “Thank God for dead Marines” that prompted him to take aim at Shirley Phelps-Roper’s sign and spit at it.

Spade said a roadside bomb killed a friend whom he considered a little brother while he was serving as a Marine in Afghanistan.

Charleston Police Sgt. Nick Null, part of the detail assigned to the April 2010 protest across from Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral, saw the incident and charged Spade with battery. He testified that Spade spit tobacco juice onto Phelps-Roper’s chest, but Spade said he spit on one of her signs, which she was holding above her shoulders.

Phelps-Roper is the daughter of Westboro pastor and leader Fred Phelps.

The Kansas-based church has picketed military funerals and last year celebrated the death of 29 coal miners in the Upper Big Branch mine disaster. The U.S. Supreme Court recently upheld the church’s right under the First Amendment to protest.

“I couldn’t believe it that people could come in here and thank God for dead coal miners and thank God for dead Marines,” Spade said.

Spade said he tried to talk to Phelps-Roper, but she refused to engage him.

Instead, he said that she and the others chanted and sang songs, including a version of “Country Roads” with altered lyrics that thanked God for West Virginia coal miners burning in hell.
