Probably .45 or .50 cal, muzzleloader.
I've seen that picture before, just can't remember where.
In any case, a lot of the heavy ML bench guns can shoot right along side of many of our more modern guns, accuracy wise.

Close, but no segar... a punt gun is a shotgun, not likely to be used in a benchrest match.

What we got here is a Chunk Gun, a heavy benchrest target rifle.

Notice the muzzle rest and shrouded sights.
