How did he not have a DL ?

Or was he just trying to be an LTC crusader ?

He should go to the airport and buy an airline ticket with his LTC DL,see how that works out.

Tried using my LTC at the airport. Nope, not acceptable.

I said to the guy that it's harder to get than a license and he smiled knowingly. But the folks that write his paycheck said no...

Yes it's harder to get an ltc. But much easier to fake the actual card. It has no physical security images on it and would be quite simple to make a phony.

But you brought a bunch of other shit so in reality it was being used as a secondary form if ID. Hell the freaking letter they sent you was also allowed as a secondary form.

Ever lost your DL? Ever been out of the country and have your DL expire? Ever have your DL suspended?

Funny man... I have a NH LTC.

I keep hearing this but do not see a legal cite!

Ok... Show me! Where does the
say this? Find it online and you are a better person than me!

I was there, saw the whole thing go down and was able to get my phone out in time to capture the savagery.

    Hummmm.
No. No. And no. I’m an adult who has never lost his wallet because I was taught to have personal responsibility. If my DL was missing so would my bank and credit card, 3 LTC’s, my HC cards, and a few other items of daily importance but not ID related.

The ABC does not "deny" an LTC but the barkeep is strictly liable if the person presenting it is under age. "It was a perfect forgery" or "It was legitimately issued but with the wrong birth year" is not a defense to an underage serving charge.

If the server relies on an inaccurate, or well forged "approved ID" like a MA DL or passport, that is a valid defense to an underage serving charge.

As to "LTC/FID harder to get". Maybe, but when my daughter got her FID at age 15 I was with her and the cop (who knew me) simply asked "What is your birth date?" and no other proof was required.
Where do you keep your safe? Is it locked during business hours? Do you use a courier service or do your own bank drops? You want to know why I am asking - sure I figured if you felt free to ask about my security procedures it was fair for me to ask about yours.

So an LTC is not an approved ID?

And when she gets her LTC and has to present all forms of ID inclusive of a CERTIFIED Birth Certificate.....

have nothing constructive to add but you guys gave me some ammunition to use next time i get frisky and want to introduce myself to one of the older ladies in the bar. slap my machine gun green card on the bar and say something smooth like "hey darlin', want to go back to my place and handle my machine gun?" i'm either going to get a broken nose, get laughed at or get lucky.

I had my LTC accepted as a valid ID when I didn't have my drivers license on me. Guess I lucked out?

Different towns have different requirements. Mine requires a utility or tax bill. But not an excise tax bill, real estate only.

And, I noted the MGL a few posts back, where an LTC is not OK for ETOH

Yes, the vendor likely considered you low risk.or had no policy against it. most alcohol vendors won't touch that out of an abundance of caution.

If you forget to show your sash and badge along with your LTC you will be denied.

On a serious note. If the DL isn't with me the LTC isn't either.

As lame as CT is their regs for booze are probably less obnoxious. In MA you couldn't even buy booze on Sundays not all that many years ago!

    Someone like me.

I arrived on a 5am flight, went home, had a nap, met the wife for lunch yesterday, and was carded. Didn't have my DL on me as it was still in my carry on backpack.

Had my MA LTC, PA LTC, Passport Card, NEXUS card, Global Entry Card though so it wasn't a huge deal.

Sunday sales are not allowed until 10AM in support of the de-facto official state churches.

My question is why should the state be involved in regulating what you put in your body?

    1. Now you are beginning to understand in (in regards to your question)

    2. The LTC id verification procedure varies by department. The fact that she has to produce that paperwork is not definitive that it is a universally applied standard across MA.

    3. LTCs are far easier to forge than MA driving licensed.

Well, for starters if they’re going to give everybody, illegals included, their version of socialistic free healthcare, you’re damn right they’ll make sure whatever we put in our bodies fits their daily schedule for the peasants.
