im just curious if all this warm weather we are having is going to or has already effected the deer hunt , or the patterns of them. it is unseasonably warm out , even today , so im thinking this MUST effect something , everything in nature is connected , anyone want to shed some light on me :)

To put it in a word: Yes.

Keep in mind that the deer are in their winter coats now. Would you want to put on your winter coat and go running around all day in the woods on a day like yesterday??

Keep in mind the rut seems to be getting going now so all "conventional" bets are off the table. Sex crazed bucks are unpredictable.

Yes I realize that those two sentences are contradictory but they are both true. If it stays as warm as it has been much of the rutting activity will take place at night when it is cooler but revved up bucks will still be trolling the woods during the day.

I see that you're in the Westborough/Grafton area; I saw a doe just off of Old Westborough Road in Grafton this morning, and my wife sees deer all the time in the early morning in that area.

@ horizontal .. that makes perfect sense to me, i was just checking my cams and there is alot of activity at about 2 am but also around 7-9 am both bucks and does i had a great 10 point on cam for about a week about a month or two back but he hasnt been around for a while

@Tim... yes i actually live very close to old westy road but my set up is further into grafton, there are many deer here i believe and i have good evidence, but this is my first year hunting in ma, so we will see how it goes , i have ALOT of traffic around my stand , im more concerned these days about getting up and into my stand with out causing a scene, in the dark ! for shotun season i figure if i get a good jump on them and they arent bedding down right infront of me but just passing thru , maybe if i get up in my stand for about 530 ... almost an hr to an hr and a half before day break i should be ok, but like my old man always said .. its all part of the learning curve
