I have a LMR 1955 M1 garand barrel that I would like to cut the muzzle back a bit and cut a new crown...maybe 11' target crown.
Anyone out there want to give it a try. The barrel is off the receiver.

Right now the muzzle reads 2+ on the MW gauge and I would like to see the barrel cut back a bit and see how much the guage may improve. Then cut a target crown...

What about Dave Santurri in Attleboro? He cut and recrowned my Mosin barrel a few years ago.

I know someone in Acushnet MA although I'm not sure if he is taking on any work. If your interested PM me and I'll find out. I have had a good amount of work done through him and zero complaints.

Are you sure you don't want it counterbored, to keep the OAL the same?
nah don't care about that, barrel is a bit rough its just a little experiment. figure if im reading my muzzle gauge right chop off 1/8" and recrown only the garand guys with a good eye will catch the shortness
