Walmart out of the Ammo business?

Walmart in Seabrook, you used to be able to buy your ammo, Penn International reels, definitely had mini 14s on display, and I believe Bushmaster ARs. Them were the days.

I do remember, I believe in high school times, the routine "is this for a rifle or pistol ?" when buying my .22lr.

Recent years, decent prices on Remington handgun ammo, and .308 hunting sorta ammo (that ran fine in my ARs), shotgun shells, and .22lr, but compared to TS - nah, just a convenient impulse buy when picking up a jug of acetone, paint trays, or motor oil.
I put in 20 years in Sporting Goods at the Seabrook store, sold a lot of the big Penn reels, Mini-14's, Mini 30's, etc

I want to say they had 14/0's and 80w's but didn't stock 130s, could be wrong, but regardless was neat. I still buy odds and ends there, their fishing and boating section remains one of the better ones.

For those thinking of getting a blue card and not having to fill out a 4A violating form, North Smithfield Walmart has plenty of rifle ammo, but they're pretty light on rimfire. Only one box of .22 Mag, but the guy behind the counter said they should get more in next week. Good, just in time for the election panic.

Well I was wrong…. Walmart in Hadley MA had plenty a few days ago but I was picking up a few items and saw this. I haven’t bought much there in years as they don’t sell any caliber I use except .22 lr. I usually go to NH shopping every other week and hit Runnings. I was just there yesterday and they had a decent sale price on Blazer 9mm. F*ck WalMart

I know of a Walmart store that is not filling out the form. I got the info from a good source.

Also, I was thinking, how will the cops do an audit?... It will really s*ck to sit there looking at every transaction and matching it to a piece of paper. Cops are going to hate it [rofl]

Hadley probably stopped selling because the man-lady with the beard and dress who works there was offended by the Non Binary paperwork. [smile]

He must have had a close connection with someone at that store. I can’t imagine all Walmarts would willingly sell that volume of ammo to some random person but idk
They were selling unrestricted……I saw a lady in the Westfield store buy all the 38 special ammo in the case and in the back, 1000s of rounds

Sturbridge just shut it down.. Where did the ammo go??? Someone must know...

All you guys seriously waste time (both driving there and waiting for the guy to find the key) and gas to buy ammo at Walmart when you can buy this shit online? Or visit shops at the mill who have good pricing?

This. I can't understand why anyone would buy ammo at walmart after the moment they quite obviously jumped the shark years ago. It was fun while it lasted but them days are over. Way over.

Eh haven’t been to a wal mart since covid and I’m pretty sure I have a bunch of 500 rd federal .22 left from when the wal mart in Halifax sold ammo.
The only thing worth buying there I found was trap and skeet loads.
The only time I ever felt like I got a bargain was when they were short selling all the rebranded Turkish NATO stuff for something ridiculous like 75% off
It wasn’t even marked down on the tag I went to buy one box of 7.62x51 and it rang up below $10 so I bought it all… at every wal mart I could reasonably travel too.
Best part it was still tagged at $20 a box
I got all the 8mm and 5.56 I could get my hands on too, credit card was melting thst month lol
Dirty stuff but it goes bang so I stacked deep.

Amazing how in a little over a decade they went from having zombie apocalypse ammo and targets to this…

Sucks for the new guys and that’s the point

Almost everyone has better prices than Walmart.

They were hard to beat for 12 and 20 gauge clays ammo. Especially with the 100 round value packs it made it senseless to reload. And no shipping.

I tried that angle since a buddy of mine had a single shot 357 rifle. The highly skilled Walmart worker laid down the law that it was pistol ammo. Getting bitchh slapped by a Walmart worker sticks with me for life.
There used to be a boomer douchecanoe at the Lunenburg walmart that would insist on escorting me to the front register to pay for .22 boxes. He would lament that it was too easy to get ammo in mass.

I'd love to buy in bulk online, but (1) I can't afford to drop $1000 at a time, and (2) when you add in shipping costs, smaller orders aren't any cheaper than local places.

As for the Mill.. I get there when I can, but it's an hour away, if you want to talk about time and gas.
