Well as I've read the local Wal Marts near me have stopped selling rifles and shotguns. I was in Dartmouth, MA. today and wante dto see if they were reducing the gun prices low enough for me to justify buying something I don't need, and there were none to be found. The guy at the counter told me they would still sell ammo, but they shipped their firearms off to Raynham.
Suposeadly Fairhaven and Wareham have stopped selling too. I read in the local paper a statemnt from the web site:
"In order for each of our stores to be a store of the comunity and offer merchandise that is relevant to that specific comunity and customer base, we recently made a business decision to no longer offer firearms in approximately 1,000 of our locations."
With all the violence around the south east Mass area, area Wal Marts should have been selling pistols with laser grips, and tactical shotguns for self and home defense if they wanted to be a "store of the comunity".
