Wal-Mart Rant

I was in a Walmart once in my life about 4 years ago. Never again. I wanted to check out the store as my sister who lives in PA just loves her local W.mart.

Being handicapped I used one of their electric carts to get around. To make a long story short, I have never seen a store as dirty, dusty, cluttered, items thrown around on the floor, opened boxes and just generally gross. Trying to maneuver my cart around was joke. Stuff was just strewn about.

Other customers I'll call "trailer park trash" mothers dragging screaming little kids with them that looked like they haven washed in a week or more.

And the people who work there? As useless as the day is long, even if they did speak broken english.

Let me know if you decide to go again. I need that square on my card!

ANY Walmart. I went to one when I was in Hawaii to get a couple of things and saw the same cast of characters. The only change was they had better tans and Aloha shirts.

Hmm..I've been a to a few in Ohio and Texas, they weren't so bad.

I went to the Raynham store to look for .223 for a range trip tomorrow. They had ONE box of Remington, but it's also nice that they redid the sporting goods department so that the ammo is in cases that you can look into.

There was no one in the sporting goods department when I got there, but after a couple of minutes a young woman (customer) showed up with an elderly woman (employee). The young woman was looking for fishing licenses, which are locked up in the sporting goods counter area. The employee of course couldn't help her and to make it worse, she didn't know what the department name was. Normally, I'd have just gone over to tell her, but because of this thread I decided to see what would happen.

Over the course of about 10 minutes the woman stopped several customers and asked them what department she was in. No one could tell her, which was interesting in itself. A young guy came along and she asked him, he said "Sporting Goods". "No, that's not it." came her reply. "I think I'll call and tell them it's the paint department."

At that point two other employees came along to help out. One of them had the keys and was very helpful. Actually, they were both helpful. One helped with the fishing licenses, the other helped me. Asked to see my "FID or License", got the ammo, rang it up.

Oh, they had one box of .223, but did have 3 boxes of WWB .45 at $29.00 each. I didn't buy them since I don't have a .45.

Gee my local Walmart must have one of the better sporting goods dept. I go in, someone is always there, in fact they tell me when ammo is going to arrive. I go in, pick up my ammo and out in less than 10 minutes...[smile]

I go to Wal-Mart a lot and have had mixed results. Most of the time West Boylston is pretty good along with Hudson, MA (if they ever have anything), and Northboro. Framingham can be tough sometimes, but has only been as bad as the OP experienced once or maybe twice.

I got some 9mm ammo from the raynham wallieworld the other day, good price quick sale noproblemo.
guess it just depends on time and place

I go to West Boylston WM a lot....never really had a bad experience there buying ammo. I always try to find someone or have them paged.....if they are not around.....

wally mart in danvers was ok,,, id hate to be a cashier there,,, always appologizing,,, but he was good, they had one box left, i was in and out well enough,

I actually got let into the ammo cabinet tonight at the Leominster WW. It's the first time anyone's ever been around to help me. I was actually able to take advantage of the prices for mini-mags ($6.47/100) and 30-06 ($13.97/20).

Funny thing, the kid ringing me up seemed to be getting 'trained'. He asked another associate something I couldn't hear, but he was promptly told "no questions asked". Sounds like a certain store manager has been getting complaints from the gun nuts in the area.

Just went to the N. Reading store to see how bad it really was. Found the sporting goods section with the target (not targets - target) and the live bait refrigerator with 2 Market Basket bags inside. Now I don't know if someone was storing their lunch there or if Market Basket was now stocking bait.

I saw no ammo. There was on locked (no window) cabinet but I saw no reference to ammo.

Do all Wally-Worlds sell ammo or is it up to the store? I almost felt like going up to the pharmacy and asking in a loud voice for "3 BOXES OF MAGNUM CONDOMS, SOME LUBE, A BOTTLE OF WHISKEY, A PLAYBOY, (and then whisper) and a brick of 22's"

I think its just another part of the deomnification of our sport. When was the last time you saw a shooting magazine in a supermarket? Have you ever been reading a firearms related book on the train and see you neighbor look at you in horror. They would have been less shocked if I was looking at hardcore porn.

Sorry for the rant.

Like K-Mart, Wal-Mart is cowering in fear to the loud left. I believe they are phasing out ammo sales.

Support your local gun shop!!! I've decided to do that from now on. Who gives a shiitte about saving a few bucks when you need to wait an hour and a half for some pimple faced liberal dweeb or earth crunchy bull dyke to hassle you about what you are buying? Most of them look at you with their mouths open when you ask for a specific box of ammo and they proceed to grab the wrong one.

Not worth it in my book. Fook Wal-Mart.

What a strange Walmart it must be where you shop. I shop there every week, and save serious bucks doing so. I always slide by to see what ammo needs to come home with the groceries. At the one in Amherst, the sporting goods employees are courteous and helpful. The guy I see there most often, Dan, always grabs the manifest of incoming ammo and shows me what's due in on the truck, as the shelves are, like most Walmarts, pretty bare. But I do, however, frequently score dribs and drabs: this week two 100 rd Valupak's of .40. Last week nothing, but the week before, three 9mm Valupak's. Week before that, the first .223 100 rd Federal Bulk I've seen in a long time. Got two.(Mighty oaks from tiny acorns grow.)

"Fook" Walmart? [thinking] I'm trying to figure out how to get there more often.
