5. Just a reminder - if you are shopping at a local business - ask if
they offer a military discount - you may be surprised! Lowes offers a 10% military discount - but you need to ask - Home Depot will also offer it at some of their stores.

6. Uno's down in Kenmore is also offering a free Entree or a free individual pizza.

Thank you for this list. I'm bringing my dad out for dinner and we're buying each other dinner [smile]. I applaud Applebee's for their offer, but I won't eat there again.

FYI: Home Depot in Keene, NH is still 10% off...

Veterans, active duty, and I do believe families of ...

The Home Depot in Keene, NH is still offering a 10% discount on all purchases. That was honored today ...$18 off of a $180 purchase.[grin]

You have to ask though, and provide ID.

So, it must be run store-by-store. It's certainly worth checking into.

Perhaps Lowe's has a similar policy.

Everytime I buy something (Veteran's Day or not) at The Home Depot, I ask for the veteran's discount.

I've never been denied.

Any Home Depot? Or are you just talking about the one in Keene.

Please specify. Because, from what I've experienced, many of the Home Depots do not offer the discount other than Veteran's Day and Memorial Day.

And, as I inferred, the Home Depot in Keene honors the discount all-of-the-time.

Well I was told by the Hadley MA store it is an all the time discount. (they just don't advertise it. ) With the room rebuild I am doing it is saving us some nice coin.

Really? Good on them! What do they accept for ID? I have my old ID card with me. I've never asked (or thought to). I asked at Mystic Aquarium, who offers discounts to AD and they said only AD gets the discount.

Any Home Depot?

Sorry about that. I certainly should not speak for all Home Depots. I do not know if it is a corporate policy or not.

To be more specific, I have never had trouble getting the veterans's discount in; Keene, Merrimack, or Manchester.

What do they accept for ID?

I use my retired ID card. My wife uses her retired dependants ID card.
