Not sure exactly where to post this. Moderators feel free to move this if that is appropriate.

Can't go to the statehouse to witness this in person, but at least we have links where we can watch from a distance...

VERMONT MAGAZINE BAN LAWSUIT UPDATE

The Federation is pleased to notify you that oral arguments on the Magazine Ban Lawsuit is now schedule to occur before the Vermont Supreme Court on NOVEMBER 17, 2020 starting at 9AM EST.

While you will not be allowed to attend in person, you can watch and listen to this pivotal discussion by going to the following link:

Vermont Courts
While many entities and individuals helped fund this case to get it started and get it through the Washington County Superior Court (Thank You To All Who Stepped Forward), those funds only got us TO the Vermont Supreme Court - not through it. In order to move this case forward, the Federation stepped to the plate and used money from our modest Defense Fund to pay $10,000 to help bring this case to a what we believe will be a very successful conclusion.
As we look ahead to the next biennium, we believe that there will be continued attacks on our firearm and sporting rights, and you need to know that across just this past biennium, almost $250,000 has been spent to lobby AGAINST those rights.
PLEASE: Take a moment to consider how much your rights are worth, ask yourself how much you have donated to date to fight for those rights, and then please consider making a donation to the VTFSC. $5; $10; $50 - whatever you can donate will be a huge help, and then get your family and friends to donate.
You can donate to the Federation by going to the following page:

This will be quick. "You're a bad guy, and guns are bad. How many bullets do you need to hunt anyway?" The days of Gunner walking around downtown Brattleboro with his 1911 on his hip and his beret on his whackadoo head are long gone. New Yorkers killed it all.

I don't think it was NY'ers any more than the leftification of NH and ME are MA's fault. There hasn't been THAT much of an influx in population. More like the normally-very-liberal VT'ers decided that they were out of step with nation-wide liberals and decided to get more in-line with the the party.

To some extent. But remember how much louder your average NY transplant is than a native. Drive through VT and count all the pottery studios. How many do you think are owned by native VTers? There's a playbook. Move to VT, open a pottery studio, take over the town.

It can't be their problem because VT's population has been declining.
Vermont's incredibly socialist, and IMO walking into being a welfare state, and you know what that's going to mean for how they vote.

What happened to the "white supremecist" who got jacked up for doing something stupid and the only thing they really had him on was he bought a new 30 rounder in Lebanon after April 2018 shit?

When I noticed this, I am actually surprised the liberals are going after this and haven’t tried to instigate doing away with Vermont’s long standing permitless constitutional carry since 1789! Thank god they haven’t.

However, we need to keep an eye on 8 possible cases, that could have some effect on permitless carry, and even concealed, open carry in regards to requiring “good cause”

Duncan v Becerra could have a huge impact as well especially if it’s taken to SCOTUS and wins. They have won so far, waiting now to see if. They go en Banc or if it’s denied. Either way, either side will appeal to SCOTUS, and theirs already “good cause” for SCOTUS to hear the case due to multiple split decisions from multiple circuit appellate courts. As of this writing, with Amy Barret now on the court, we have a very good chance of getting the case heard and even in our favor hopefully.

I am sure tomorrow, the lawyer for our side will mention Duncan v Becerra, even though it’s in the 9th circuit court.

Only if it was NYers that brought in dem voter fraud. It is voter fraud and old VT natives throwing America under the bus for more gibmedats. The old guys are sneaky they don't walk and talk the way they vote.

My junior year of high school (89) we got in roughly 10% of the graduating class were new transplants from NY, and it's only gotten worse since then. It was like a switch flipped. I don't know what happened around then in NY, but it was like the flood gates opened. Only a few years later and land was expensive, taxes went up, act 250 garbage, it was like night and day. And all those hippies living on the commune abutting my parents land completely changed their demeanor and became insufferable.

That was all the bored housewives(((told they deserve to be happy))) running off to VT to be ski bums before their looks ran out and dragging their teenagers with them. Husbands were stuck paying for the party so hey why not...

I actually hope VT wins this case, so that the plaintiffs can take it to the US Supreme Court and get magazine bans ruled unconstitutional there, that way all magazine bans nationwide would fall.

Yes I know, not going to happen, but its a nice dream at least.

However Vermont decides this issue is already heading to the Supreme Court again. And with the 3rd Circuit upholding New Jersey's limits and the 9th Circuit striking down California's, unless one or the other gets reversed in an "en banc" decision, I think they'll end up taking the cases to resolve the conflict.

Grew up with 2 daughters of my mom’s BFF. Both older than me. The youngest grew through adolescence into playboy centerfold eligibility. Last I’d heard she was living this life in VT, but that was many years ago. I often wonder what happened to both sisters.

Wait. So if I head to VT, I've got a chance of some lonely mother/daughter 3-some action???? Hell, I might put a Biden sticker on my car for that one. ROFL!!!

OK, maybe not.

That was pretty boring.

I things some points should be made...

A criminal wont care about the magazine restrictions. If somebody is intending to murder many people, he wont care about the LCM charge.
It's too late and impossible to prevent a criminal to get these mags. There are already hundreds of millions in circulation and can be built at home.

The people this gun law would hurt are the law abiding. They may not have as many rounds as needed to protect themselves to their families at home or in public.

AR15's are Americas most common rifle and are suitable for home defense. They normally carry a 30 round mag.

If you have an AR15 and a group of people are invading your home - how many rounds would you prefer to have to defend yourself and your family.

Is 10 enough?

I would prefer an unlimited amount of ammunition but I would be satisfied with a standard 30 round magazine.

The home invaders wont limit their magazines because they don't follow laws.

But, the law abiding would get the short end of the stick if he were to be forced to defend himself and his family.

Regarding common use, an AR15 is the most common rifle in the US. It is designed to use 30 round mags. Weapons in common use are protected under the Constitution.
Same goes for common handguns like the Glock 17 that holds 17 rounds.

Was there an additional hearing after this one?

Is the video for today's court hearing available anywhere?
