> ALERT!!! 2019/05/9 - Call Mitzi Johnson - No to S.169

The end of the legislative session in Montpelier is looming, and the stakes are being raised on S.169. The gun control advocates in Montpelier are pushing for the House Judiciary Committee to amend S.169 as passed by Senate; from just handguns for 24 hours, to become all guns and for 72 hours. There has been a call for "no compromise" by a gun control group operating in Vermont (GunSenseVT).

Your calls are needed tomorrow. Please call to leave a polite message at 802-828-2228 for House Speaker Mitzi Johnson: "No to S.169". The line opens at 8:00 am.

Thank you.

As we now know, the bill passed, of course, and is on Scott's desk hopefully awaiting a veto. Be it known that ONE of the legislators that voted for this knee jerk feel good garbage bill, Mr. Chris Bates from Bennington, is a convicted felon, who also just happens to be a fugitive from justice from the state of Illinois. This in itself is totally unacceptable that a felon who is a fugitive can pass judgement on the rights of law abiding gun owners. It is one thing if he served his time and paid the price and then got elected, but he ran while he was a fugitive and won, and NOW this info just hit the press this past week. Check out this link and make your opinion known to the AG and the Governor of VT.

I also have been told that the Vermont Federation Of Sportsmen rep at the statehouse, a guy named Tim??, supported this bill. This is unsubstantiated, but I got it from another Representative. This bears doing some research on this....................
