So last night I was in Loeb, and for the first time ever I was unhappy with how the ventilation was performing. It definetly wasn't blowing hard enugh, and I was getting smoke, and once buring powder [frown] blown back in my face.

I've never had this happen before, and I checked all the blower controls and it seemed fine (was set to "Summer"). I was having some issues with my 1911 (appears to be just too long without oil...lesson learned) and I was late to pick up Mrs. Weer'd, so I didn't even think about talking to anybody about it.

Has anybody else noticed this? Usally I feel like I'm in a damn wind tunnel when I shoot in there, and I sometimes have trouble SMELLING my gunsmoke, let alone FEEL it....[frown]

I'm starting this as a new thread rather than the MRA thread so hopefully when the problem goes away, so will this thread....

Weer'd Beard,
The vent. system in the Loeb definitely has some problems.
I would suggest that you drop a note in the comments box, which is located on the wall where you sign in.
The comments are read at every board meeting, and can be the catalyst for opening discussions for solving problems such as this.

The air seem to be working about the same last night, but I like to shoot out side when I have a choice. Weerd Beard I hope the lube I let you use help out.

You kids are nothing but trouble!

Yeah the 1911 seems all better now (At least feeding snap caps) I'm gonna have to head back up for another trial. I think it was just dry.

If the blower in Loeb still seems to be not working well I'll drop off a comment.

I just didn't get a chance to drop anything off because I was runnning late.

Oh come on now. Don't get your Wonder Woman Underoos in a bunch because I poked fun at you.

Last time I looked in the mirror I didn't look a thing like Brent! [rofl]

Hey guys- This Saturday we're running a class on the Loeb so if there's a problem with the ventilation there will be at least 4 guys from the Board of Directors. The President is usually there, too, but I think he'll be shooting high power rifle this weekend. Either way, the problems will be duly noted and worked on.

Don't forget that the range is going to be closed for professional de-leading from the 16th-19th. So if there's something wrong, maybe they'll get it worked on then. I'll send an e-mail to El Presidente, too.

Weard, try using a grease instead of oil on the rails of your 1911. I use slide glide and have had great results. (some people don't like this) I know someone who uses GM Synchomesh transmission fluid because it is really think and seems to work really well.

I just got back from MRA and the ventilation was working fine. I suspect pilot error. [wink]

Not this pilot!

Anyway what's to mess-up? You turn on the blower, and crank that little automatic shutoff all the way (And it went off while I was shooting So I had to reset it).

I'll probably be over there Saturday morning (hopefully Mrs. Weer'd will be there in the evening for the fun shoot)
