Suppose it would entirely depend on gun orientation in the box. Although, I'd say this is a horrible design regardless if you can slide anything into it while it is closed without having to bend any of the housing. Even if the lock was solid, being able to get purchase inside the box lid is just a leverage point for a prybar or even a large screw driver.
Lol, less than that even, it's a legal compliance device, nothing more. Keeping kids out- toddlers, maybe, but a 10 year old could probably bust that thing open in like 5
minutes.
